Enjoyable stay

We had a most enjoyable 4 nights here. The photos above are accurate but are taken from across the road looking down into the site, the site is between the stone wall and wire fence in the photo, so a long thin shape. We tucked ourselves into a corner so we could see Crich Stand (memorial tower), which you can easily walk to and, for just 50p each, climb up. We could easily walk into Crich town making use of the splendid butchers and bakery. The fish and chip shop there is also very good, the mini fish is actually the size of most chippies large, a regular is too big for a carrier bag! The site was quiet, big enough for a game of frizbee, nice loo and shower, all good. Would stay again. Thanks to the Sayles.

We will return.

Have just spent 5 nights here. Lovely site and very well maintained. All pitches have their own water and electricity. Arrived and set up before Paul came to see us. Chose a nice hard standing pitch at the bottom of the field. Blocks required to level up but not a problem. Plenty of wooden blocks available near the shower/toilet. Very popular site and met some lovely people. Very peaceful and quiet. The lane at the side of the site is not too busy and noise never bothered us at all. We will be back.

Very glad we found this CL

We stayed here in June 2023 so that we could visit family. Paul and Joyce were fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful. They run a working farm, but nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The shower and toilet are good and regularly cleaned, the elsan point was fine and at a suitable height and recycling and rubbish was kept tidy and cleared regularly. Pitches 1, 2 and 3 were fully serviced and the others had EHU and water tap with grey waste into the hedgerow. There are three hard standing pitches and two or more grass ones if you don't want hard standing. All pitches had fantastic views. Thank you Paul and Joyce for having us, we will be back!

First trip away

Stayed at Moor Edge Farm for one night. This was the first overnight trip in our new van. The site was perfect, a quiet location and very welcoming. Facilities were excellent, very clean toilet and shower facilities. Will definitely be coming back again!

Spot On

Photos of the site are a bit out dated as there it's hard standing for 3 or 4 caravans plus grass if wished. Didn't use the toilet or shower but they looked immaculate. The water was HOT! The site isn't quite level but not a problem. Within walking distance from Crich Tramway Museum. (about a mile). Wasn't open. Opens mid March. Both Paul and Joyce were kind giving info on local walks which we really enjoyed...they didn't mind that I kept knocking on their door! We had 4 different walks from the campsite. Stayed 5 nights. Definitely one on our "must return to" sites So many places to visit...Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton, Chatsworth. Alfreton just 4 miles away with a good sized Tesco.

great site

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this site and we had great time. The pitch was a good size hardstanding with it own water supply. The tramway museum was just down the road and at the weekend you could here the brass band playing there was easy access to most places of interest. We really enjoy our stay and we will almost certainly be returning next year. Many thanks for a great stay see you next year. Steve & Sue Day.

Peaceful location

We stayed here for one night in September. Nice welcome, EHU and water at pitch. One shower and one loo, spotlessly clean. Lovely 15/20 min walk to Crich across the fields. Half an hour drive to Chatsworth next morning. Would stay again.

Beautiful site

This is a lovely site with 1 toilet and 1 shower which were very clean. We were in a motorhome and found it difficult to get level even with chocks. You can easily walk to Crich through the fields, so make sure you have waterproof boots. We visited The Tram museum and it was very easy to walk to and an interesting day out. We ate locally in The Black Swan and had a delicious meal, however I wasn’t to keen on the walk back in the dark passed the graveyard. All in all a lovely site.

A real find

Stayed here for 2 nights early September 2021. Each pitch has its own water as well as hook-up, and (unlike most CLs) it has a toilet and shower - both immaculately clean. Access road is single track but with passing places. Site is somewhat sloping and chocks essential apart from one of the three hard standing pitches (others are grass) Easy access on foot in 20 mins across the fields to the village of Crich which has all essential facilities - notably the Black Swan pub which is to be recommended including its new beer garden. (But note chip shop only open Weds to Saturday.) Buses also run locally toward Matlock etc Really good little site and one to which we will definitely return

First visit to the Peak District

Just returned from a five night stay at this campsite. Very easy to find although the last half a mile or so is a single track road. It was good to be offered a choice of pitches. The owners were very friendly and said we could pitch the van any way we wanted, and we finally got it right after the third attempt. The weather was very hot and there Is no shade to be found from any trees. Clean and tidy site with separate shower and toilet which is adequate for the CL site. The site is ideal to visit Bakewell, Matlock and we spent a couple of days walking along the canal at Crompton Mill and visiting the coffee shops and ice cream vans! There is a pleasant walk up to the Monument which is ideal for an evening stroll to watch the sun going down. All in all very happy with the site, and hope to return soon.
