Gloucestershire Gem

We’ve just returned from three nights at New House Farm. This is a lovely tranquil rural CL on a working farm. Large, spacious and flat. Very well kept. Grass is mown and the clippings are picked up. Set back from the road so no traffic noise. There is a good garden centre opposite the entrance which has a cafe. There is also a bus stop at the end of the drive to take you to Newent and beyond. We will return.

Very Good CL Site worth a visit

Just got back 20/8/22 from a 4 night stay in our motorhome, Lovely flat site with loads of room with very easy access to the site. Away from the main road some 300 metres away so no road noise at all. A friendly welcome on arrival and all the amenities explained. The water an EHU is in the middle of the field so easy for all to reach. The owners also have a selection of long EHU cables to loan so no problem with getting electric to your unit. Also has the benifit of a toilet which was clean and very suitable. Very interesting seeing the day to day runnings of this proper working farm which does not interfere with any units on site and you can see a small flock of sheep which the owner told me me was Dutch Spotted Sheep (looks very much like Jacob sheep). Stragely for sheep they are very friendly. Bus stops to Gloucester, Newent and Ross on Wye right at the site gates.Bus number 33, and a Garden Centre with a restaurant right opposite very useful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this CL site. Thank you to all for a lovely stay. M&M

Mini Break

We have just arrived home after spending a few days at this excellent site. Pitch was flat, grass had just been cut. It is a quiet site and with a bus stop right outside the drive, was close to places of interest. We will be returning in the future. Thanks to all concerned

Lovely farm site

Despite it being a wet weekend we had a nice time at New House Farm near Newent. Really easy access from Gloucestershire. Plenty of room for 5 units on wide open area so sun all day (if there's sun). Central post for electric and water (extension leads available if yours won't reach). They have a couple of hardstandings too. Elsan point and recycling close by. Rustic but serviceable loo in nearby outbuilding. Fresh eggs available and footpaths from the site. No dedicated dog walk but plenty of fields talk to the owner about where it's ok to walk. It is a working farm with sheep .Garden Centre over the road which has a restaurant. Bus stop at the end of the drive. Would definitely return. Recommend the Kilcot Inn (10 min drive) for food.

Ok for a stop over.

Well placed from the M5 although not quite so handy if you want to spend more time around the Symonds Yat area.Good level site but no toilet facilities open due to Covid although that wasn't a problem for us .I have noticed that sites aren’t making any concessions on their prices when they don’t have facilities open which I think they might consider if this situation is to continue into next year.

We returned!

Further to my last review, we have returned and it is just as nice in the dry weather. I'm sure we will be back again!

One of our top favourites

We've stayed here three times and it's a trip we always look forward to. You can choose your own spot in the sizeable field (no reversing required) so there is no need for any close neighbours. Apart from the friendly welcome and informality of the site, we love it because you can either spend the day lazing around the caravan or visit some of the many interesting places within.easy reach. Can't wait for our next visit.

Nice!

We were here last weekend during a very wet spell. The 4 hardstandings are well spaced and, during dryer weather, the whole 2 acres can be used. Entry to the site is easy from the 'B' road but very little traffic could be heard. There is one EHU post (many outlets) in the middle of the field so extention leads may be necessary. It is flat with short grass. Would definately return.

Peaceful site

We arrived on site in August 2019 to receive a warm welcome from Janet. This was our second visit to this very peaceful and relaxing adult only site which has EHU and is flat with short cut grass. There is also a pleasant garden centre opposite which serves a nice Sunday lunch ! We look forward to another visit in the future

What a Lovely Site

We recently spent two wonderful weeks at this site. The shower and toilet were very clean all the time which is important when spending two weeks at a site. Even though it is a working farm it was very peaceful and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We found the area was very good, well placed for visiting many things. We didn't have time enough to visit everything we wanted to, so will definitely be returning to this site sometime in the future.
