Ease of arrival/welcome

For seekers of large carp

The owners of the CL, Mr and Mrs Bale, are regularly around and welcoming. The site itself, generally level, is well screened from neighbouring houses and the A143 by tall Leyland Cypresses, mainly. However, they do not much reduce the sound of the road, which is close and busy in the day time. The majority of the pitches are surrounded by the trees which make them dark and limit the TV reception. Until I changed pitches I could not access terrestrial or satellite channels. During an October stay, which, admittedly, was not sunny, the site was gloomy. A drinking water tap, grey water disposal and bin area are close to the pitches. The chemical disposal point and the shower and lavatory are about 100 metres away. The last mentioned are a little ramshackle, accessed through a garage used for storage and just about adequately clean. Off-site dog walking is easy. The Bales also offer on-site fishing in some ponds which are small but which, judging from the photographs at the entrance, contain some large fish. The excellent Broome Artichoke is just over half a mile away.
