Nice site

We stayed in the cl site in the marina, there is also a touring site for non members. Excellent hard standing pitches surrounded by grass and your own picnic table, unfortunately we didn't have the right weather. Ehu to all pitches, 16amp so no worries about tripping, we had our small heater on all the time so saved on gas and diesel. Very clean toilets and showers with washing facilities, modern and clean. The marina itself had a cafe and small shop that catered for all the boat owners and campers. The booking in procedure was easy and the staff helpful and professional. The walk into Audlem was about 1 mile along the tow path, plenty of places to eat, even in these difficult times, also there are many good walks from the marina itself. We won't hesitate to return next year.

Lovely CL

stayed August 2020 amid COVID restrictions. Everything was lovely & clean and its a really nice site. Our only niggle was that the CL pitches are on the road into the marina & most cars going to the marina were travelling fairly fast. We didn't feel particularly safe letting the kids play out because of this. No traffic after 5pm though, so this was better.

Excellent site.

We love the location of this site being on a canal. Shower/toilet facilities are superb. Excellent cafe next to reception, alongside the canal. Lovely towpath walk into Audlem with a small co-op. On weekends/bank holidays catch the little boat along the canal into Audlem - raising funds for RNLI. It’s a treat. There is a 10 pitch touring/seasonal pitch site also here behind a hedge, but we don’t find this a problem. It is everything a CL should be and more. If only some CMC club sites could be as good as this.

Lovely kept site

Stayed here a few weeks ago overnight, on recommendation, from friends. Well maintained site, there is a regular site, approx 10 units, attached to the field, but it appeared these were mostly sited. The cafe does a lovely cooked breakfast. Its a short walk along the canal to Audlem, not much there but the pubs are worth a visit. The toilet facilities are new and kept very clean. The only criticism is that there is a lot of traffic in and out of the site, going to the marina. We don't have children but this would be a worry if we did. Definitely worth another visit

Love this site

We have stayed on this site 3 times now this year, we really enjoy our stays here. you can walk along the towpath to the village it takes about 35-40 mins, we always get the little boat back which is a £1 per person dogs go free. beautifully kept site and friendly staff in reception, we love going into Nantwich very nice town about 6 miles from the site. the shower and toilets are very clean although we do use our own. There is only one thing that we find a little annoying pitch 1 seems to be a seasonal pitch as the same people are on that pitch every time we go, they seem to think its acceptable to let their dog run around with no lead, this is a pet hate of mine, as we have a dog who is always on his lead.

Lovely place to stay

We have stayed at Overwater Marina many times and really enjoy staying there. The grounds are very well kept and there are picnic tables dotted around to allow people to eat outside on a nice day. The showers/toilets are kept immaculately clean. The dish washing room (there is only one and sometimes there is a small queue) could be bigger as there is very little room to put your dishes. There is a very nice cafe serving very good food /drinks, situated right on the canal so customers can watch the boats passing. There is a pleasant walk around the marina and you can easily walk along the canal to Audlem (takes approximately 30 minutes). You can also have a boat ride to Audlem at weekends for a small fee. The pitches are hard standing. There is a CL area for 5 caravans and a larger area for 10 caravans. Regrettably on the last occasion we were there three of our grandchildren visited and we took them to the shop for an ice cream. The door was open and as we went to enter two of the staff appeared and said they were just closing but asked us what it was that we required. We said that we just wanted three ice creams for the grandchildren, but the staff said "sorry, but they were closing!!!" The children were VERY disappointed. The staff knew we were staying there, and on what pitch, and they could have easily served us (the ice cream fridge was right next to the door) and we could have either paid them then or the next morning. This is VERY POOR customer service indeed and put a damper on the holiday.

Very Nice

We tried to get onto this CL several times through the summer but it was always full and you can see why as it is a lovely place. On saying this there is a few things to be aware of if going through the winter months... there had been a massive amount of rain and the surrounding grass became a bog which is not usually a problem on hard standing pitches but the position of the hook up points was mmm well a bit strange. Ours was 40 meters away (nowhere near a pitch) and in the middle of the grass!! so it was impossible to keep off. Plus with having a dog he was constantly filthy - not the sites fault but it just added to a rather muddy weekend. None of these little issues though will stop me going back, I will just try harder to get in when the sun is out. Good points - Lovely location, nice onsite cafe, very clean facilities. The pitches are nice and big but not perfectly flat so you will need a leveling block. One more thing to think about - the site is now not just a CL, there is a regular Touring site with quite a lot of pitches. There are 4 toilets/showers which are spotless but it may become busy in the summer when all 5 CL pitches are taken along with a full touring site. We would not consider this an issue but I know a lot of club members like the 5 caravan concept of a CL. I look forward to my next visit.

A lovely site

We stayed here for 3 nights in August. The site is fairly large as there is also a 2nd caravan site as well as the marina. We pitched up as we were able to select our preferred spot when booking on-line, then made ourselves known at reception - the staff were welcoming and helpful. Pitches were far enough apart to give us space and there was a picnic bench for each pitch too, which was a nice touch. The toilet and shower block were spacious and clean. There was a decent sized field for dog walking. It is lovely to walk around the marina and look at the boats and the walk along the canal to Audlem is a treat. We sat on the canal side at the pub to watch the boats passing. What a relaxing way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Shame it's going to change

Nice CL, very tidy, clean and organised. Fair few cars compared to other CL's as they are going to the shop etc. Over all as it stands today great place to stay. Really nice staff and coffee shop is good. This year They plan to keep 5 CL pitches then open up more none CC pitches. This will increase cars going past your pitch. There will be more disruption, as log type cabins going in as well.
