Just right for us

We stayed September 2023. The odd layout of the vans on the site when we arrived was explained by one unit - parked to take up two pitches - decided not to leave before the next caravan had arrived and then people staying away from trees as high winds were due, the site layout is still very flexible! We enjoyed a visit Sunday Morning to the Parham WWII American airbase museum, well worth a visit if it is open while you are there. We also had a good day out at Framlingham Castle, (do get there early as parking can be difficult). Then a day at Sutton Hoo, also worth visiting are the Suffolk Punch Horses at Hollesy, quite close by.. Plenty of coastal (and Estuary) sites to visit. The information hut is filled with leaflets etc, but the home made Jams and chutneys are excellent, restocked most days, the owner who walks around is very approachable. We will return.

Lovely days in Suffolk

Recently spent a lovely 11 days at this outstanding CL. Extremely friendly and conscientious owner. Site well cared for, facilities checked daily. Aldborough, Southwold, Framlingham all within easy reach. Duxford air museum only an hour away. Main caravan dealer just down the road if you’ve forgotten anything. Access to site couldn’t be easier. All in all we highly recommended it.

A Quiet Site in Rural Suffolk

This a perfect site for a quiet few days in rural Suffolk. Access is easy even along the narrow section of road past Parham Hall which looks narrower on Google Maps Street View than it actually is. There are plenty of footpaths in the area which can be accessed from the site without having to drive. The moated hall to the south of the site is worth a walk past. There were no flies and the grass was not too long as reported by one reviewer a few years ago perhaps they were just unlucky or perhaps a bit too fussy who knows. The only downside was the lack of buses in this part of Suffolk, plenty of bus stops but a total lack of buses. This is a site we will return to its only a short hours drive away and easy for a mid week break.

Lovely stay

We had a lovely few days here…..the owner was very friendly…….there is a little shed where you can take/swap books and DVD’s, and the most delicious home made blackberry jam. Very easy to access everything, and there are lots of things to do not far away in this lovely area.

Very pleasant stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Very welcoming owners. Nicely mown large field with easy access. EHU points only on two sides of field, so this restricts where you can pitch somewhat. Everything clean and tidy with several bins for recycling etc. Nice little information shed with eggs and jams for sale. Unfortunately because of Covid restrictions, no maps, leaflets and guides available. Site is well placed to visit Framlingham, Woodbridge and the coastal towns of Snape, Aldeburgh etc. Would definitely recommend.

One of the Best

We have been members of the Caravan Club for 40 years and have probably been to well over a hundred CL's. This is a real gem of a site, a really big field with plenty of space, and well cut grass, also landscaped with lovely mature trees. Electric hook ups well spaced apart, so you are not on top of each other. so many times you arrive and what is described as a large site, only to find what was a large field has been divided off, or it is a big field but only a small area is available! Water pressure very good so water containers filled quickly. Very easy access on to site, good dog walks very locally, just a short walk along the quiet lane, (left or right) which has very wide verges. Adam and Sue Paul, very friendly and non obtrusive. we stayed for nearly 3 weeks. Very quiet, very easy access to Framlingham and surrounding villages and only a few minutes from the A12. Another point that i appreciated was the very good soil, which makes it so easy to put the awning pegs in, so many times we have been to a site and either the ground is rock hard, has flints or bricks close to the surface and makes it a real hassle to secure the awning. Added to all this, Sue makes fabulous Jam to die for, different varieties depending on season, which is for sale with fresh farm eggs in their little site hut with an honesty box. (yes they do have about 30 of their own free range chickens, so they are genuine FR eggs) Cannot recommend it highly enough, if you like a nice quiet, basic well thought out site with easy access, this is the one. Parham Hall Farm CL

We arrived at this lovely CL last Friday Sept 7th and stayed until Mon morning. It was so quiet and peaceful. The very nice man who owns the site didn't come to collect the site fee until the Saturday and was so friendly. There is a produce shed where we bought jams, marmalade and fresh eggs and the shed also contains books, magazines, maps etc. We cycled the quiet country lanes and also visited Framlingham and Aldborough. We shall return.

A real gem of a site

We stayed on this lovely CL for 6 nights in August. It is a lovely large, flat field with a few trees which meant we had lots of visitors to our bird feeders. The water and waste facilities are well organised and there is a little shed with local information and jams and eggs for sale. The owners are friendly and helpful and visit every so often to make sure everyone is happy. There is lots to do locally and it's not too far for a day visit to RSPB Minsmere. There are lots of lovely walks nearby both coastal and country. Framlingham is a lovely town worth a visit. We attended the Folkeast Festival which was a lovely way to spend a weekend and just a 5 minute drive from the site. There were flies and other insects but it has been a hot summer and we suffered flies just as badly in other places around the country. We sat out in our awning happily and enjoyed watching a buzzard and a green woodpecker flying over. A lovely site with lots of space and very reasonable too. We can't recommend it more and will be back again next year.

Parham Hall Farm

The CL is just as it looks on the photos - a good-size field with established trees. All in all, the location is lovely. However, there are two reasons why we probably wouldn't return: 1. The flies were awful - we had the fly screens down in the caravan all the time and we couldn't sit out in the afternoon or early evening. Perhaps we were just unlucky and it was that time of year. 2. The grass was very long. We were pleased to see a man arrive on a sit-on lawn mower, but he mowed only two areas which had been vacated that morning, even though all the grass was very long compared with most other CLs that we have visited. Such a shame as it's a lovely part of Suffolk and very close to Framlingham.

Comment from the owner:

Thank you for leaving your review and we’re glad you enjoyed the location of our site. I wanted to assure you we take pride in keeping our site tidy, with the grass being cut on a weekly basis. We’re very keen to keep the grass short, and with a site at just over an acre in size, there are occasions where it is more practical to tidy the site when pitches are vacant. We hope to welcome you back to Parham Hall Farm in the future.
