Great evening site

As others have already said the views and sunsets here are amazing it’s very peaceful and has a lovely atmosphere. You are very near so many lovely places like Lyme and Sidmouth but equally it’s great to just chill by your van. Booking was very easy, communication by text, and it is such a bonus there is strap on each pitch as most big sites would class this as fully serviced and charge a fortune! We are very local so will be back - thank you Audrey !

A Perfect Getaway

A lovely relaxing, quiet, peaceful site with great views and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunset opposite the caravan almost every night. Audrey, the owner was a really nice and friendly person, not at all intrusive but there if needed. Also great value for money. Loads of places to visit nearby including Seaton, Sidmouth, Beer, West Beach etc. A Tesco Superstore about 4 miles away in Seaton. Had an excellent Indian takeaway from Lal Qilla in Lyme Regis. Would definitely return to Penlong Close if in the area.

A Little Gem

Lovely CL which is very easy to find with easy access. large grass pitches with electric & water to each pitch. Views over open countryside & very quiet and peaceful. Bus stop to Lyme Regis only a couple of minutes walk and buses run every hour, about 10 mins into town. Lyme Regis is worth visiting & if weather is good, relax on the beach before visiting one of the great coffee shops or pubs. We enjoyed Penny Black, Galley & Lyme Regis Bakery (all coffee shops) with Lyme Regis Brewery being favourite bar. As the weather was good when we visited, spent most of the time on the beach or just chillin round the caravan. Would certainly use this CL again, a little gem.

Very peaceful

Very peaceful site with 5 large pitches most(if not all)with its own water supply. Owner friendly and welcoming. Box with local information on site. As with most CL sites the facilities are basic but recycling is encouraged. The disposal point, again basic but better than others, more importantly it was clean-you are more likely to get soiled with chicken and duck poo walking through to the disposal point :) Would definitely come back here.

The site was in very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. However we did not once see the owner and the Elsan disposal point was dirty.

A Model CL

We received a friendly welcome from the CL owner, together with all the necessary information about recycling facilities and the CCEP which is away from the pitching area but easily accessed. We were invited to use unwanted bread to feed the ducks and chickens on the adjoining field. The site is fairly level with generously-sized marked pitches and is well kept. You can clearly see the TV transmitter, so no problem with TV reception. An excellent base for visiting the attractions and beautiful scenery of West Dorset and East Devon. The Jurassic Coast bus stop is a short walk away. Definitely somewhere to which we would be happy to return.

Site was not up to the standards of Hygiene required by the caravan club.

During our stay we had to use the chemical toilet facilities provided on this site The facility was disgusting unable to meet the most basic of hygiene and health requirements. Hopefully after reporting our findings to the caravan club this problem has been eradicated.

Comment from Community Manager:

Many thanks for your review. Further to your visit remedial work has since been carried out to resolve the problems with the Chemical Closet Emptying Point. I hope this helps address your concerns and please be assured the CL owner takes problems of this nature very seriously.
