Quite a pleasant site
As a Caravan and Motorhome Club member I had hoped to be able to book into the CL, but as it was fully booked at the time I was offered a pitch in a field. My review is based on that stay, but is relevant as, if fully booked, a member may well be offered this alternative. It also applies partly to the CL anyway. The field was as good as, if not better, than some dedicated CLs and has 16watt EHU. The downside is the not insignificant slope. The toilets, showers and toilet waste disposal were a short walk away down some uneven steps - if you are not-so-steady on your feet this could be an issue. The views of the surrounding area are excellent, but it should be remembered that it is a farm and consequently the outbuildings are not so elegant as the views! The access track is also fairly basic and a little rough until you reach the concrete 'driveway'. The road to the track is also quite bendy and is one track with occasional passing places - I shouldn't like to meet anything coming the other way whilst towing the caravan unless they are prepared to reverse. There are three caravan sites on this piece of road, so I imagine it happens! Regrettably I was not met, neither did I meet the owner as I believe he was away. My visit coincided with a substantial storm that lasted most of the night and gales remained the following day. It would have been nice if someone had been available to come round at some point just to check everything was OK. As it happens, whilst it was very noisy and bounced the caravan a bit, there were no problems other than someone's wind break being flattened - ironic really! In general it's a nice enough site - though as I was not there in the height of the season I cannot comment on the availability of the toilets and showers as there were no issues over the weekend I was there. Initially I thought the pitch was a little expensive at £18, but compared to alternative sites in the area this was a little cheaper than most.
