Amazing CL for Essex Coast/Frinton Seaside

Great CL with Hookup and each pitch has a tap or one nearby. Toilet Block has showers and sink. Great price. Location is excellent for Clacton and Frinton. Very easy to get too, entrance is a bit tight but only the very very largest motorhomes would need to be careful, we pulled into the main entrance and field entrance with a 4x4 and twin axle caravan without drama. There is a large field about quarter of a mile away which had a festival on when we were there (not connected to the CL nor the owners business), it's used occasionally for concerts and tented music festivals. If you were particularly sensitive to this it may be worth checking if something was on. It wasn't a problem for us, music stopped by midnight on one day only and didn't prevent sleep. We would definitely recommend this CL, and will continue to visit for inexpensive beach based get aways.

Lovely field clean and tidy

Lovely place if you have dogs. Toilet s were clean and showers hot. Hook ups around the site giving you plenty of soace. Grass was short on a huge field. Clean and tidy. Just watch the entetence tight getting the van around it. Otherwise quiet clean site.

Noise

The site is a large field with electric and water points. Just like a posh place at a Caravan club site. The entrance is tight but I did notice others using a different way in. The noise started at 7:50 with a fork lift truck and then grass cutting. Why start so early when people on holiday? The manager was very brusque. Not welcoming at all. Would I return no. There are better places around.

We returned to this site and were pleasantly surprised it as gone from being potentiality being a nice site to being one lovely spacious field in a great little village, grass cut, showers/toilets nice and clean.

Little care and up keep

PLUS SIDE This site is in a huge field with just five eclectic hookups making it very spacious. THE DOWN SIDE. The long grass in the field was cut and then left hence couldn't help but walk grass into the caravan. One toilet/shower for men and one for women neither were cleaned in the three days we were there. All was shabby, broken, old with the minimum of care and upkeep taken. The woman's shower tray was blocked and water flooded the floor (couldn't find anyone to report it to). There were cotton hand towels in the toilet! VERY unhygienic as we don't know who has used them or how they have been there. As reported toilets cleaned once a week! Hooks in the shower/toilet area swiveled upside down when hanging up cloths and towels dropping every thing on the floor. Will NOT stay there again.

Motorhomer

Only bad comment was the state of the shower/toilet area. Shower had to be cleaned before it could be used and the cobwebs on the inside windows looked like they had been there for months. It needs a good clean. After having said that, nice peaceful site with access to fresh water and Elec.

A Good CL

We have just spent 6 nights at the Rainbow Nursery site. It is very large with flat grass surface. The two shower/toilet are good and are cleaned regularly - users are asked to clean after use just like Club Sites! You pay at the nursery office. We can recommend this site to other Club members

Regular User

I have stayed at Rainbow Nursery four times now and use it as a base for sea-fishing at either Clacton or Walton piers. The owner is very friendly. The site is HUGE, always well maintained and the local pub in Wheely very welcoming and less than a five minute drive away is another very nice pub and a 24 hour McDonalds. The shower/toilets ARE meant to be cleaned behind you as they are only checked weekly or if a fault is reported. All in all I will remain a regular visitor.

Quiet and relaxing

Planned to stay overnight on our way back from Nottingham, it was so relaxing and friendly we stayed another night. Great location with easy access to beaches and the village pub. Large area for camping and clean facilities, can't wait for the grandchildren to break up from school and return here for a weekend or longer.
