Another Great CL

Last minute booking and arrived to find a large grassed field of sloping grass (you will need levelling blocks on some pitches) overlooking pasture and woodland. Very peaceful and quiet. Short walk to the owners farm to pay the £10 per night fees including electricity - bargain! Well organised water, waste and recycling facilities together with a box full of ideas for walks and visits. Relatively close to many areas of interest including Harlow Carr gardens (£2 reduction with Caravan Club vouchers), National Trust Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rocks. Pately Bridge, Harrogate and Knaresborough. A little further afield to the Dales. Great pub - Black Swan at Burn Bridge (about a mile back down the road). Great CL!

Autumn Visit

Stayed here for 5 days at the beginning of November. The site has four  hard standing areas which are required at this time of year as the recent heavy rain had made the surrounding grass areas very wet (but no mud). The site is very nice and has great views towards the hills. We did actually see a Red Kite whilst we walked along the adjacent footpath. The site must be amazing in the summer when the grass pitches are in use. Very handy for visiting the local area

Excellent

Stayed here during May 2013. Terrific pub down the road, expensive but worth it, first class food and hand pull beer! Also recommended is Harlow Carr gardens nearby, an inspiring way to spend a good half day, have been several times and think it's wonderful, on site Betty's tea room has a constant queue. Almost forgot about the CL, charming lady owner. Peaceful and relaxing, nice view, sort of place I hoped to see Red Kite soaring above, but didn't, not too far from Harewood House (as the Red Kite flies) from where a lot of Red Kites were reared/cared for and released, I think! There is some connection there somewhere!

I will return Laughing
