Our stay in the New Forest

Our first experience of this site was there was no notice pointing the way to the CL site from the entrance. Though the Vineyard and Farm shop are well signposted it was unclear where the CL site(s) was located. Having asked the way we were warmly met by Paul, who was busy harvesting the grapes. He informed me the water and chemical waste point were behind the shop some distance away from the site. There is no water point on the actual CL site. I personally hate carrying water whilst on holiday and I think CL (and the Clubsites) could do more to cater for modern caravans that are designed to be plumbed into a tap. The site was expensive at £16 per night for what was provided. Having stayed on superior CL sites this year for £12 per night with plumbed in water, electricity, waste provision on beautifully maintained sites I thought that this was not value for money. The site is not set up for the caravanner but is part of a complex of money making business ventures. Though the vineyard had some attraction I cannot say the site was attractive as it had many run down tired looking buildings surrounding it. The site was quiet. Not a great site in our opinion just mediocre. We left early.
