Lovely peaceful site

We've just returned home from this lovely site in rural Essex. We found it very easily following the owner's directions (SatNav wanted to take us off the main road earlier, but we resisted!) The entrance to the site is up a very straight, tree lined road with automatic gates at the top. The pitches are well spaced out with plenty of room and all pretty level. The pitches are all electric (of course) but each one has its own water supply, which is wonderful. There are stunning views from the site and it's really peaceful, with just the pheasants to break the quiet. We will definitely return. Motorhomers from Kent

Hidden gem

We loved this site and spent the weekend on our own there....and don't know why more people aren't going! There was a review which said the pitches were close together; we did not find this to be the case at all and hope others haven't been put off by this. They are all serviced with water and electric and the owners were friendly and welcoming, allowing us to walk in their fields at this time of year (June). Local pub walking distance and good, with lots of other choices locally too. Plenty to do and see locally, no complaints at all and hope to be going back soon!

Great new CL

Really nice new site but still needs some 'bedding in' in places which will come with a little time. Great to have taps on each pitch, although as somebody else has mentioned, some pitches are a little close together and some also slope off a little. The Axe and Compasses is in walking distance and serves great food with an extensive menu. Arkesden is a very pretty village as is the larger town of Saffron Walden nearby. Speedy connections into London too, with two mainline stations only a few miles away with parking available at each. Very welcoming and helpful owners too and will definitely return to this site throughout the year.
