Great Basic Site

I stayed on my way north - specifically to visit Slimbridge and Berkeley Castle. Both well worth a visit. I booked the day before arrival and Elizabeth was very helpful and very apologetic that the strimmer had broken when trying to tidy the CDP area which wasn't a problem to me - the area is well laid out with a excellent empty point as seen in the photo. (none of your dustbin lids etc.) This is a basic CL so don't expect manicured grass - but this site is easy for the M5 - although the last half mile would be difficult if you met another outfit - the rest is fine but beware the cyclists! Excellent cycling country though. I took the scenic route away from Slimbridge and discovered a wonderful butchers shop in the middle of nowhere "Clayton House Meats" not open everyday but on Saturday when I passed. The fishing lake adjacent to the site is beautiful and makes a pleasant short walk. Longer walks along the Severn bank also stunning. The hard standing would benefit by being defined a bit as nature is somewhat taking over but I prefer grass anyway. I do hope they make a success of the site - at the moment you can't find this site by name search - only on the map - which needs to be addressed and will contact the Club to point this out.

Ideal stop over or place for some peace

Stayed one night on our way to Devon. Ideally placed for easy access to, and from the motorway. The location is a field with a fenced and gated section. Tap handy and waste drop also close. No 240v but not an issue for us. Walking down the lane takes you in 10 mins on to the embankment overlooking the river. Ideal for dogs etc. Friendly owners live in the farmhouse by the path. A rare thing these days...peace..no cars..no noise...bliss. Will use again maybe for a bit longer than a stop over.

A lovely new site - peace!

We were the first visitors to this site an ideal stop off on our way to Cornwall and we stopped again on the way home. A fabulous welcome by Liz , who advised us where we could walk and things to visit locally. It is very basic with no electricity but very quiet and has hardstanding available if the weather is wet. A short walk down a quiet lane gets you to the Severn where you can walk the path for miles and a small fishing lake on the site gives a pretty peaceful short walk. A lovely place to unwind , I wish them the best of luck with their new venture and look forward to visiting again
