Nice quiet site and well maintained

Booked in for a quick weekend break. Communication with Dave was great and he supplied lots of useful information when we booked. The access to the site is fine....the country road is a little narrow for two way traffic but it is a quiet road and not too long so take your time and it's no problem. The camping paddock has lushious grass, it's clear Dave and Susan take pride in their site. Surrounded by fields, it's a fairly flat 30 minute walk to the seafront at St Mary's then along the beach to Dymchurch ( you can follow the road or go across the fields). The Hythe, Romeny and Dymchurch train is great and has a request stop at St Mary's if you don't fancy walking further to Dymchurch.... Worth a ride to Hythe and Dungeness. Both Dave, Susan and their cute dogs were great hosts and was nice to meet site owners who wanted to engage in conversation beyond the basics. Overall it was a very relaxing few days!

Peaceful Retreat

We stayed here for the August Bank Holiday weekend. What a quiet and tranquil site. David and Susan were so welcoming. The sunsets over the Romney Marsh were stunning and it was a short walk over the field to a lovely local pub. I would thoroughly recommend this adult only site for a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Thank you David and Susan, we will certainly be returning.

Relaxing stay

5 day stay at this wonderful little site, very rural and quiet. Booking was quick and easy, by phone and email. Friendly welcome and explanation of services etc, David also gave us a local map and pointed out places of interest which we used extensively. The access was easy, the site is all grass, very well kept and flat. The local pub is just under a mile, dog friendly with good food. We walked and cycled out every day with so much to do and see we will be returning. Thank you both for a really relaxing, enjoyable stay.

back to school

recently pulled into a site the owner came and greeted us very nice!!!!! than proceeded to lecture both my wife and i for the next five minutes about all of his rules ending with if we use to much electric and we will be charged and make sure we turn off our awning light at night because it upsets his dog how a yorkie could see through wall and over a hedge i had no idea, we both just said what a sad way to run a site, next day we went out came back to find the site had suddenly became a 6 van site so much for his RULES now going to report him

Very pleasant stay

Had a lovely stay with David and Susan. Very well maintained site and exactly as described. Easy walk to The Star for evening meal and drinks. It’s definitely a “get away from it all” place to relax.

Wonderful Sunsets

There is little to add to previous comments. Susan and David are excellent hosts, well organised, and with local, helpful, information at their fingertips. Always pleasant and helpful, we (plus 2 dogs) were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay, made even better by fine weather. We will certainly return if in the area if only to see the wonderful sunsets.

Really recommend this site

David and Susan are very friendly and informative. Being a newbie single female I found they were on hand to help for advice and helped me feel confident to set up on my own with my dogs. The site is spotlessly clean david explained things on arrival and keeps the site in top condition. (Thankyou so much). Can’t say enough about this site even had freshly laid eggs from that morning yum ! Thankyou susan for for your personal touch present when I left. The beaches and pub within walking distance you have an amazing relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

Great site

David and Susan were extremely friendly and helpful. The site is maintained to a very high standard with loads of space to ensure you have whatever privacy you prefer. There are no pitch boundaries so you have the flexibility to pitch as you desire, as long as you maintain the required distance from other units for fire safety. The location is great providing a tranquil setting for relaxation with the added bonus of entertainment from the small flock of geese and ducks. It is only a short walk through the adjacent fields to the Star inn which served excellent home cooked meals. Local attractions including the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway are easily reached from the site. We will definitely be back.

Jubilee Weekend

Just returned from 3 nights stay at shingle Hall Farm. This has to be one of the best maintained CL's we have been on. David & Susan are very pleasant, full of information on the surrounding areas, and very helpful. I will confess I was a bit surprised at the rules here, but they really help in keeping this a well organised site, very clean as it should be. Don't be alarmed by the extra charge for electric, you are really going to have to boil, and heat everything to get near the extra charge!! Hopefully we will be back at some stage, its a great site, and plenty to see & do. The beaches at St Mary's & Dymchurch are within walking distance, and the Star Inn in less than a mile. This is on our 'must return' list, thanks for a great time, Andy,Stella & Bobbi!!!
