Lovely Weekend Stay.

Recently spent 3 nights at this great little CL. We had to postpone our original stay due to Storm Dennis but Jason happily changed our dates. Following the Handbook instructions and Postcode provided by Jason finding the CL was easy, the final hundred yards or so are narrow but as it's not a through road its unlikely that you will meet anyone. Access is wide and the CL is a grass areas either side of a hard road, behind the house. Facilities were good and bins and Elsan point with tap were screened off from pitches. The site has a slight slope but didn't cause any problems getting level. There is a bridle way which runs along side the site, useful for dog walks. Nearest pub is a short walk away, but dogs are not allowed inside, we used The Royal Oak on the main road which was dog friendly. Ashbourne is only a few miles away and has an Aldi and Sainsbury's for shopping, together with plenty of independent shops. The the Tissington Trail also starts in the town. NT Ilam and Dovedale are a short drive away. With regard to the previous review the lodges are now finished, there are only 3 and although can been seen from the CL are set away from the pitching area. Personally we didn't find them a problem and may be useful for non caravanning family or friends. Jason and Ruby were friendly and helpful, and we hope to stay and again soon.
