First Class CL

Very nice CL. Well laid out and good solid gravel hard standings. Useful information point on site. Some noise noticeable from the Croft racing circuit but it is fairly distant and not too intrusive at all. Also some aircraft noise as it is directly under the approach to Durham Tees Valley airport but flights in there are very infrequent (about 4-5 per day max.) Clearly well looked after and maintained.  Leccy is 10 amp which is good. Access tightish with a larger outfit like ours but just needs a bit of care and we had no real problems. Will definitely stay again, we liked it a lot.

Good base for discovering North yorkshire.

Just spent 10 nights on this CL, all local towns easy to get to,even went up to Hawes in the dales, taking in Aysgarth falls on the way, which were spectacular! The site is well laid out, there were two vans on site which appeared to be used by workers during the night only- one had seen better days being held together mainly by bits of tape. Local pub in village, Blacksmiths, accessed by a 10 min walk is an absolute must --food fabulous. Free range eggs from resident hens are gorgeous.will revisit.

December visit

This very quiet site is easily accessed, being about 1ml off the B1263, Catterick to Darlington Road. The site entrance is a little tight and the CL sign is not very obvious. The lane passing the site is not busy and suitable for walking ones dog, and there are also a couple of footpaths close by too. There is a pub at North Cowton about a 1 ml away, and buses can be got there through to Darlington.  The site's pitches are all hardstanding and of reasonable size, and sheltered on two sides by high bushes. There are extensive views over to the North and East, and the farms donkeys kept us amused. The site lies roughly equidistant from both Richmond, with it's castle, and Darlington where there are the usual supermarkets. Apart from the rain we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to use the site again. A real bargain too at £10 pn.

Peace & Tranquility

We booked this site initially as a stop over on our way up to Dockray Meadow in the lake district, we loved it so much that we gave up our last day in the lakes & booked another night for our return journey. The site was so peaceful, with lovely views. The owners were so friendly & welcoming. We wished that we had spent the week at this site instead of Dockray Meadow. The 2 donkeys were so comical, we sat watching them play for ages one evening. Our daughter was also taken with tinker bell the chicken. If you want to stay on a quiet, friendly, welcoming site then look no further than Spring Thyme caravan site.

A Gem of a site

What a wonderful site this is. A great welcome.  From Isabelle and her two adopted  donkeys. Do not understand the comment of difficult access it is easy. Some farm traffic can be heard in the day but nothing to worry about. You are in farming country. We had a week that just flew past. The owners left us to get on but were always on hand if needed. We will be back.

Excellent Value For Money

Had no problems with sat/nav getting here.  The drive into the site is quite tight.  All pitches are hard standing.  We had pitch 1 which is between 2 very large trees which did affect the TV areial signal at times.  However this would not put us off going back but not to that pitch.   All other pitches are tree free.  There are plenty of pleasant walks nearby.    There is occasional noise from cars speeding by but nothing to take away from the overall peacefulness of the site.  Well worth a visit.

Excellent CL...recommend a visit

We have just come back from a weekend at Spring Thyme.  The site was easy to find. It was very clean, tidy and well kept. Facilities were basic, which was reflected in the price. Good TV signal. LocalPlacesOfInterest was a few miles drive from the nearest town of Northallerton, but if you want to be away from towns, then this site is perfect.  I recommend this site.
