We arrived on the nicely mown field to a warm welcome from our host. She was very accommodating, even providing us with a permanent water supply and drainage. We used the footpaths in the wood as a dog walk. Yes, there is some farm machinery in view but this shouldn’t detract from your holiday. We had a lovely time exploring the area and there is a great deal to see.
Great site & location
Just spent 4 nights here in splendid isolation as we were the only people on the CL which is always a bonus!
Lovely simple site with great country views - rain permitting... We had a lot of rain during our stay but the field clearly drains well as there were no puddles or muddy bits. As other reviews have pointed out there are some noises from the pigs in the nearby barn but we never found it intrusive and nights were blissfully quiet.
Amanda came to welcome us and check all was OK which was a nice touch having been a few CLs where we never met our hosts - not a criticism as we often stay on working farms and they do have other things to do! Amanda was also helpful when we had a problem just as we were about to leave but thankfully we were able to fix it and get on our way.
The CL is only a 1 - 2 miles from the A170 so access is easy - it also means it's easy to get to explore the immediate region with Helmsley, Pickering and Scarborough all being within easy reach. There are also some spectacular drives to be had over the North Yorks Moors.
All in all, a great CL and one to return to!
Almost perfect.... if you love pigs!
We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and had a choice of pitches. It was immediately obvious that a significant characteristic of this particular site was the adjacent pig barn where loud “piggy” noises could be heard throughout the day and intermittently at night. At times it sounded as if murder was under way! Aside from this, the site was as one would expect if a CL with water, waste disposal and electric hook-up all easy to access Views down across the countryside were extensive and the site was within easy access to Pickering for the North York’s Moors railway, Hensley and an easy circular walk to Rievaulx Abbey, as well an easy drive across the moor to Whitby. We recommend a visit to the Ryedale Folk Museum in Hutton le Hole... a delightful open air museum nearby.
great site
very excelent site would recommend if you want peice and quite
owners very plesant look forward to going again
Just the job for CL lovers
Spacious site on working farm. Lovely views. EHU and water on bollards. Plenty of room between vans and you can orient your van to get maximum sun because there's no pitch peg nonsense like on big sites. Great for touring around; loads to see. Owner lives on site and is friendly and helpful. Good value. Hard to criticise this site. If I was trying hard maybe the pigs get a little noisy at times;). We would definitely return.
Great CL
Just had 4 nights at the Bungalow. Great location for us as close to both The Cleveland Way and Tabular Hills long distance walks. Highly recommend.
Great site!
Great location, lovely views. Friendly welcome. Highly recommended.

Just as before
We have just spent a further 6 nights here, this time our Son and his family came in their motorhome too. We all enjoyed the stay, the site is still as good as our first visit, and the welcome was as warm as ever. We shall return again. Thanks Mrs Cussons
Yorkshires finest
Love it, love it, love it. Gorgeous panoramic views, well kept, generous sized pitches, clean and tidy. Owners very friendly. Lots to do in the area. Very central for Helmsley, Kirbymoorside and Pickering. Definately our favourite CL in the area. We've stayed here a few times now with another one booked and hopefully many more to come. Keep up the good work Mandy and Richard and see you soon.
Beautiful Views.
Just spent four nights at this CL, which we enjoyed. Beautiful views to south and west, looking towards Howardian Hills. With farm shelter belt to north and east, creating quite a sun trap.
Very friendly owners living adjacent to site if they were needed. Good access to Yorkshire Moors or the East Coast.
All being well, we will return in the future.
