Can you keep a secret?

I found this CL by chance whilst looking through the M&CC book for somewhere at very short notice in the Suffolk area for 3 days. Having read the reviews and after looking at their website I thought I’d give them a try, but expected them to be full. Luckly enough they had one space available for 3 days, it must have been fate! Easy to find and first impressions were great. Level well cut grass area with hook up, loads of space between units. A warm welcome by Pat clear and concise instructions detailing all options regarding the use of Toilets/Showers, Fishing and Internet. Apparently they leave these options as “extras” because some visitors prefer to use their own facilities, or don’t fish or do not wish to use the Internet. Fare enough. Breaking down these options means they only charge £11 per night including hook up. For this site with the location and superb grounds £11 is an absolute bargain. I selected to splash out and paid the extra £4.50 to use their spotless facilities, so £12.50 per night. Still a bargain! I had a walk around the grounds and bumped into Steve, Pats husband. He showed me all the various features they have created in the couple of acres or so of land they have converted to a ‘reserve’. I just couldn’t believe the amount of work they both put into this place. The grounds, described by another reviewer, as a nature reserve couldn’t be more accurate. Steve has prepared superb areas for all wildlife to thrive. He has even built a bird hide! The centre point of the grounds is the fantastic lake which is very well stocked with Carp, Roach and Rudd. Many photographs were taken and many fish caught, Carp up to 8.5lb. I have already booked my next visit when Steve has promised me a teach in on another of his hobbies, Lepidoptera.

A lovely peaceful and spacious site with lovely facilites

We have been to this site 3 times now and we are really pleased with everything that is available including disabled toilets and shower. The pitches are very large and the grass is well cut. Pat and Steve are very friendly and and make sure stay is very pleasant. This site is also great for fishing people but if not like us you can enjoy the wildlife area and walks. If you are a CL caravaner/ motorhomer then make this site a priority to visit you will not be disappointed.

A SITE THAT WE CANNOT FAULT

ONCE AGAIN WE HAD A WOUNDERFUL WEEKENDS STAY AT THE GRANGE.WE JUST CANT FAULT THIS LOVELY SITE, WELL PERHAPS ONE SMALL FAULTT WHICH WAS THE WEATHER. THE SITE HAS VERY SPACIOUS PITCHES WHICH ARE VERY WELL KEPT WITH LOVELY GREEN GRASS WHICH IS DUE TO REGULAR CUTTING AND COLLECTING OFTHE GRASS CUTTINGS. SO WE FEEL THAT---------- NO GROUND SHEETS ARE ALLOWED RULE----------- IS CORRECT FOR THIS SITE. THE FACILITIES ARE IMMACULATE AND WOULD HAVE TO GO A LONG WAY TO FIND BETTER AND WELL WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY. IF YOUR A FISHERMAN THER IS A BEAUTIFUL WELL STOCKED LAKE IF YOUR NOT THERE IS A BEAUTIFUL NATURE/DOG WALK WITH VARIOUS BENCHES AND TABLES AROUND TO SIT AND RELAX AND ADMIRE NATURE AT ITS BEST. THE OWNERS PAT AND STEVE ARE TWO OF THE BEST WITH THEIR CHEERFUL GREETINGS ON ARRIVAL AND ALWAYS COME OUT TO SAY GOODBY ON EXIT IF THEY ARE ON SITE. WE CANT WAIT TILL OUR NEXT VISIT TO THIS SITE. PAUL,LIN AND JOSH.

Shame about the owner

A fantastic site, great access, level ground which drains well. The toilet/shower are spotless with endless hot water. Great fishing if you want, carp bream etc. Great wifi (at a price). This site would be fantastic but for the woman owner who is a tad overbearing and dare I say dictatorial. Pay up on arrival (ok) but then be told that groundsheets are totally banned because it will ruin the grass. Darling its a campsite, do you want happy campers or a lovely grass field? You cannot have both. Sadly we wont be returning.

enjoyable stay

Just returned from a 7 night stay at this wonderful site.  Both Pat and Steve made us welcome they both work hard to maintain their CL.  The shower and toilet facilities were like home from home, beautifully clean and a joy to use.  Hot water came through immediately and there was even heating. A walk through to the 'nature reserve' behind the site was another world.  Plenty to attract the wildlife including a hide to view the birds.  Whilst we were there Steve had a built a moth trap to view all the different spieces of moths, on the first night he had 'caught' over 200.   There was a well stocked library and Tourist Information.  We found plenty to do as well as enjoying a couple of 'lazy' days on the site.  The local towns of Harleston and Diss provided all our needs as well as the local villages of Banham and Attleborough. Thank you for providing a lovely spot.

Nice Site, Shame About The Owner Lady.....5/9/15 - 12/9/15

The welcome or non welcome we received spoilt the first few days of a 7 night holiday. Whilst the site is laid out really nice with an excellent dog / nature walk, well stocked fishing lake and massive plots. We arrived on site and the plot was "pointed" out, we were told that the plot had a mole problem and not to pitch to far back. This is not a problem to us. As we were setting up the lady owner came over, there was no nicety of a welcome, a pleased to see us etc. we were told directly "no groundsheets". Fair enough I said, we do not have a groundsheet but a fully breathable carpet. No you can't use that, it will damage the grass.  Why charge £1.50 a night for an awning if I can not have a breathable carpet down, I am paying for the ground upkeep which I would not damage anyway. Next came, if you want a key to the sites facilities it will be £1.50 a day each. Ok it is £21 for the week, it is on the web site but not the greeting I expected. After this came the saying which kept us laughing all week, "Fishing is £5.00 per day or PART THERE OF". Then came, "if you see me walking my dogs don't come near me as one will have a seizure". All of this was within the first hour of arriving on site, for the rest of our entire stay the owners did not ask if everything was ok, smiled or even nodded. When we took the awning down on Friday we thought, ah well they are sure to come over to check all had been ok with our stay, but nothing. We just drove off Saturday morning seeing nobody. The site is really nice, the location is not at all bad for the Broads and Thetford Forest. The pitches are nice and flat with ample of room. The fishing is good with a very well stocked lake with carp over 10lb. The walking / nature area is very well kept. The bad points is the poor attitude of the lady owner..... I was the customer! The road is very noisy with speeding cars and bikes. There is a builders yard next door making noice early and late in the day. The internet cost £7.50 for the week but we had two days when it was not working. Would we re-visit... Yes but not under current ownership. I work hard for my holidays and do not want to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome, especially when I am paying for it! She was responsible for spoiling our first few days due to her attitude.

Well Organised Site

Although this site does live up to its write up, we were a little disappointed with the owners direct approach, when informing us that payment was required on arrival, and the charge for showers were £1.50 per person per day (rather steep I felt) as the charges or payment were not indicated in the Caravan Site book.

My short stay

We have finally found a CL site we want to return to. A very warm welcome, plenty of room and most of all their own wildlife area which to us was a very pleasant suprise. I can't fault this CL in any way and is the best we have been to in 12 years. Thank you.
