there is no fishing

i booked this cl as the website says there is fishing on site and good tv reception, I phoned up and booked a weeks stay and the owner even confirmed I would be able to fish. and he would give us a lakeside pitch. we were held up on the A14 due to a bad accident and received a text giving us the gate code. once we arrived at the meadows we were met by the owner and showed to the pitch I asked about the fishing and he said that they have stopped people fishing but the next caravan is on holiday and booked it a year earlier so he could go, and the next caravan didn't like people fishing so it would be best if I waited till they left, when asked if we could get a tv signal on our pitch number 3 he said well the next caravan gets one but they had a sat dish. he then left us I checked with a signal meter and could not receive a signal. however the farmer next door started to spread a evil smelling fertiliser ( yes I know this happens in the country I do live in a rural area) so we up sticks and left, I found the fishing and tv good to be misleading I will not return here.

Thank you

A big thank you to Angie and Andy. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. A peaceful tranquil oasis, that we thoroughly enjoyed and would be back every week if we didn't live so far away. But we will return soon.

What a fantastic site, the best CL in the Country?

We have just visited for three weeks, our first visit but certainly will not be the last. This CL is as good as some commercial sites and has got to be the best in the UK. We have visited many CL's over our 40 years caravanning and this site has it all. The owners cannot do enough for you, the facilities are absolutely fantastic, the shower room is as good as any upmarket hotel, spotlessly clean and loads of space. Two toilets and a pot washing area and the biggest lounge, TV, Library/ Games room wI have ever seen, again spotless and even has tea/coffee facilities. The pitches spread across the site are extremely large and have views over the two large fishing lakes full of very large fish. Being in the area it is, it has an abundance of wildlife - Owls, deer, woodpeckers, kingfishers etc. Thank you for a most wonderful and relaxing holiday - don't forget a shop, pub and wonderful chippy all within walking distance. The best cl we have ever stayed at

A beautiful site. Lovely grounds and super clean shower. A friendly owner who made us feel so welcome and who genuinely wants to give (and does give) the very best service.

Excellent site

Great site with excellent facilities - a lot more than expected for a CL site. Owners very friendly and helpful - local shop and pub within a few minutes walk. Could not fault any of our stay. Looking forward to returning again.

Peaceful site with lovely surroundings

We have just returned from a lovely break away at Angie and Andy's Meadows. Despite rather alarming amounts of rain, we received a warm welcome and a well drained pitch! Angie and Andy were very friendly and brought us some eggs from 'the girls'. They obviously take great pride in looking after their land, it is such a pretty and peaceful site with lots of wildlife. My husband enjoyed the fishing , catching a good sized carp. The caravans all over look the lake. We look forward to returning to the site in the Spring/Summer and seeing it in it's full beauty. Thank you for our lovely stay.

Eleven out of ten

Well, what can you say, It has everything you would want. A big thank you to our hosts Angie and Andy, nothing is too much trouble. We pitch around the lake as all 5 pitches are, it was so peaceful. The toilets and shower always lovely and clean. A bonus is the whole 5 days we were there, we never used our car once, It has a small pub which does food and a village shop/post office which is well stocked. so we went out on our bikes. Thanks again and see you soon

Just perfect!

I don't know that there is ANYTHING I could say that could possibly express how very lovely this site is. The owners are great but the site is just a pure joy! Free range chickens trotting about, we also saw partridges, pheasants and a wonderful kingfisher who regularly visits the lake. The shower/toilet are pristine and the clubhouse was very useful (especially when you want to watch the FA cup final in comfort and don't have a TV with you!!). You could easily spend a week here just completely chilling out and relaxing. I can't recommend it enough (although I don't really want to because I'd rather stay there again on our own for 4 days like we did last month!!!). We're really hoping to make the trek from Devon again this year so we can stay longer.

Great CL Site

We stayed for a week on this site May 2016.  Without a doubt this is the best CL site we've ever been on.  It is incredibly quiet and peaceful with stunning trees around the lake. For the fisherman the lake is well stocked with rudd  and carp plus the occasional sturgeon.  The  carp fishing can be challenging but rewarding.  All the pitches are big allowing you to pitch your caravan as you see fit. The owners Andy and Angie are newcomers to running a CL site but their friendliness and enthusiasm more than makes up for this.  Nothing is too much trouble for them. We can't recommend this site too highly.
