EXCELLENT CAN'T FAULT IT A LITTLE GEM

Just returned from our Easter Weekend getaway and what a fantastic relaxing weekend we have had despite the weather. The site itself is lovely and flat plenty of room for everyone although this weekend only our 3 caravans plus a Motorhome that came for 1 night only.Toilet and shower very clean and adequate for our needs. Plenty of hook up points available around the field . Great for walking area for our 3 dogs too without leaving the site.and also a lovely nature reserve to walk around nearby too.. The pub itself brilliant Carly her husband and all staff were very friendly as were the locals who made you feel very welcome . The food was excellent too as were the staff who worked in the restraunt checking that our meals were ok . Would MOST DEFINITELY VISIT THIS CL AGAIN.. top marks given by us 💟

Top Marks for The Railway Inn

We've really enjoyed our Easter Weekend at The Railway Inn, great communication from Carly the owner from our booking last year to our arrival. The site is situated behind the pub on a lovely flat site with 10 x 16 amp hook up points around the site. Nice clean toilet and shower good waste water facilities too. Next to a railway line but the trains were far and few and never bothered us. The pub has some nice craft beers, pool table and dart board. We went in every day and Carly and her staff were brilliant they were so friendly and made us feel very welcome and so did the locals. The food in the pub is so good it's traditional home cooked food and the service in the restaurant is top notch even the lady chef came out to see us to check everything had been ok. This is definitely in our top 10 CL sites and we will be back again next Easter. Keep up the good work all of the team at The Railway Inn.

Unhelpful staff

Position was great just outside of Lincoln and close to country park BUT We arrived on a very cold evening went in an paid and asked where to pitch. We were expecting electric hook up only to find give vans already on site and using all available hook ups. One van with a cable right across the field to the hook up on our pitch. Annoying when we had just paid for one! We asked what we should do but the staff were dismissive and unhelpful. Didn't even offer a refund for the electric part we had to ask for that. The lack of the hook up led to some real problems as it nearly flattened our batteries. These sites are supposed to have only five vans! To make matters worse one van remained unoccupied overnight. Toilet and shower facilities are adequate and not very clean.

Its the best CL we have stayed at in Lincoln

when we have visited, not only is the price is very reasonable compared to some (it has use of a shower/loo room included in the price unlike other more costly CL's around) but the owners are laid back and welcoming, nothing too much trouble and they leave you to enjoy your stay. The CL is very well placed to visit most of the attractions of Lincoln, easy access to the A46 and easy to find and get on site. We like it, only hope not too may people read this or we might not be able to get onsite!

First Time

The Caravan Club website states there is a drive over drain on this CL...there is not. It also states an exclusive use of a toilet, but it is shared in the wet room. There is free wifi but it is not strong enough to reach the pitches adequately, We received a warm welcome from the staff. The wet room is poorly maintained and not cleaned to a very good standard. The shower curtain needs a good boil wash or replacing and the floor tiles need a good scrubbing. The floor is very unlevel so shower water runs behind the toilet and it takes time to squeegee it over to the shower drain. I never found the grey waste dump point. There is no recycling on site either, there are just 2 dustbins with no lids. Frequent passing trains pass right next to the site and some cargo trains run at 3am. Despite this it is a quiet site when there are no trains.

Midweek break

Just had two fantastic nights here, nicely mown grass, level, good little combined toilet/shower wetroom, very friendly welcome, good beer, good food, & good atmosphere. The gate into the site is always padlocked for security. Easy access to surrounding area. OK there is a railway line right next to the site, but after a couple of hours you don't really notice that much, cant say it disturbed us much at all. Looking at when we can return. Deffo recommend this one.

Super overnight stop

Lovely dog friendly site with very clean facilities. Next to a pub (bonus) but dogs not allowed in (shame) although there is a beer garden where we enjoyed an excellent hand pulled beer. We didn't try the food but were told by another camper that it was very good. We arrived on Sunday afternoon to find an impromptu football match going on. It was lovely to see kids and parents spending some quality time together. Probably some cheating by the parents! There are some lovely dog walks in the area especially around the local nature reserve which is easily accessed on foot. An excellent friendly site with full marks apart from the peace and tranquillity because of the railway next to the site. That said it wasn't a problem and we will definitely be returning to this site.

Great CL

The other reviews reflect the quality of this site. Lovely warm welcome. You could not ask for a nicer "proper" pub. Everyone was very friendly and the beer is very good and reasonably priced. Great walks from the site and ideal for dogs. Easy access to Lincoln and all it's historic interest. We will definitely visit again later in the season. Thank you for a lovely few days.

Good CL - If You Don't Mind the Odd Train

Nice flat, firm CL at the back of the pub. Good level access through gate which, when we arrived was locked. The key was quickly supplied from behind the bar in the pub. A pleasant locals pub with some real ales and a pool table available. Food was standard pub fare, nothing particularly adventurous. They do a £5 full English breakfast on a Saturday and Sunday morning. Toilet and single shower available at the back of the pub easily accessed 24/7.  This part of the village is very quiet with no shops that we found.  Visitors need to be aware that the railway line runs alongside the site. The passenger trains that pass approximately every hour aren't too noisy, however some of the infrequent heavy goods trains make a lot of noise and vibration. Very few of either over the weekend so not a problem to us. Good site, would stop there again.
