Very Pleasant CL

We only planned to stop one night, but stayed three. If you want peace and tranquility on the edge of a very pleasant village this CL will be for you.The CL owners are friendly and helpful and live near by. It is set in a long field with well spaced pitches and hook up points. There are basic water and waste facilities and the CL has an open sunny aspect and looks over surrounding countryside. We visited in dry weather in March and had no problems driving on to or off the field in our 7.5M motorhome. There are two hard (but grassed) pitches at the entrance that motorhomes can use if ground conditions are soft due to weather. While walking around the village, we were struck by how friendly all the locals are, everyone we passed giving us a welcoming hello. The pub is an easy walk from the site and has a good range of food at reasonable prices. The beer was very well kept too. We read an earlier review complaining that the pub did not allow dogs, however as dog lovers, and former dog owners, it shouldn't be considered a problem to respect the wishes of others. The village shop is worth a visit, it stocks a wide range of goods including wine and spirits, cakes made by the CL owners wife, and bread from a local bakery. A post office also operates here twice a week. The A1 is a short drive away, close enough for easy access, but far enough away not to be heard. We will definitely return if in this area again.
