Great Site

This is our second visit to The Vine, the first being when they had only been open 2 years, it was lovely then and still is. Very clean and tidy, serviced pitches, and the Elsan point very easy to use. You get a visit from the resident ducks, hens and cockeral. Ruth the owner is very nice, but not in your face, but there if you want anything. For the seniors amongst us, we found it pleasant to just cross the road and have a nice pleasant stroll along the canal.

Wow, what a perfect site!

What a lovely CL. Well cared for and a lot of thought has gone into setting it up. Huge fully serviced hardstanding pitches. A couple would need levelling blocks, but no problem. Fields to walk dog on site but access within 50 yards to Montgomery canal towpath. Easy access from main roads but peaceful and quiet. Plenty of walking and cycling directly from site. Montgomery Canal, Offa’s Dyke path and River Severn way are just a few routes and circular routes direct from site. Also lots of interesting places nearby and would recommend for all year round visits we will certainly be back for longer next time!

Great CL With a warm welcome

Easy arrival . Great access to this beautiful site . Very well organised . We were warmly greeted by James but if owners not around a board with name and pitch number is available . Large super pitches over looking a large grassed area . So picturesque . Nice walks or cycle ride along Montgomery canal close to site . The website pictures don’t do the site justice . CAMHC need to update the pics to the current ones sent . This is one to go on our list . Just Beautiful . We will return in future when we have chance to stay longer than 1 night.

Well organised CL with large service pitches in a great location

We have been to the CL twice now . Owners very welcoming and helpful . Getting the CL is very straightforward. The pitches are large and all hardstanding with easy access for pitching. Nice views. peaceful . There is a tap, waste water and electric on each pitch. The elsan point and rubbish are together (screened off) and recycling is catered for. This year there is wifi available at a small charge, but not advised (by the owners) for streaming , just email/browsing etc. Opposite the site there is easy access to the canal towpath which has a hard/gravel surface. You can mix a walk on the towpath with quiet lanes too. Lots to do nearby ie Oswestry , Welshpool and NT property . A little further away is Lake Vyrnwy and Pystell Rhaeder. This is just some of the many attractions. On arrival there was a problem with the electric socket on the post - these things can happen - very impressed as this was all sorted very , very quickly by a local electrician . I am sure we will be back.

Absolutely lovely site near to beautiful canal.

Really liked this immaculate site. The spacious pitch was fully serviced and this site is ideal for those happy to use their onboard toilet and washroom. Unfortunately could only stay for one of the two nights that I had booked as most of the electrics on my van packed up, but really enjoyed a walk along the towpath beside the beautiful Montgomery Canal just over the road. The owners had told me that they would be away when I visited, but just to take any vacant pitch, which was easy enough to do. Also enjoyed meeting the seeing the goats and other animals on this lovely little site. I do hope to visit again.

Impressive CL site

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of July. The hardstanding super pitches are very impressive, each pitch being large and well maintained. There is a large picnic area near the pitches with tables for alfresco dining. The site has easy access to the nearby canal that takes you down to Welshpool. It was a pleasure to stay here and we very much enjoyed our break.

What a beautiful site!!

This year due to covid we have decided only to use CL sites. I spent a while in lockdown trawling through the CMH pages and this is the 2nd site I chose. So glad - it was a beautiful clean site with easy access for the road. Right at the end of the village on a b road that is a bus route into Welshpool but not a busy traffic road. Easy access to the site which has 5 fully serviced large hard standing pitches. Each pitch has a view across the fields or towards the hills. Made very welcome by Ruth and James. We loved the way the rooster, chicken and duck roamed around the site very comical to watch. This is a gem of a site with close access to Welshpool and Rodney's point. It is across the road from the Montgomery Canal and a fifteen minute walk to the right on the canal brings you to a small nature reserve. So glad we have found this site and will return. No complaints from us even the sun came out each day.

End June 2019 enjoyable stay

Arrived on 29th June. No one to greet us just a sign in window of office to say sorry and to pitch up wherever. Took the only space and luckily not newbies so knew what to do. Across the road and over a little bridge is a section of the Montgomeryshire canal, well what a find, its a beautiful walk! Second day we walked almost 9 miles with a picnic half way. So much birdlife ( ducks geese and swans and babies too) we were lucky to have a super sunny day. Called in to the office to catch up with, and pay the owners who apologised for being away when we arrived but that was all we saw of them - however our ‘motorhome neighbours’ were friendly and full of advice. Happily go back to walk the canal in the opposite direction 😊 Chickens and ducks wander freely through the pitches which entertained our dog ... short leads needed !
