Stunning Scenery

I love this site, it's easy to drive on and unhook, two water points. The views are stunning in the sunshine and dramatic when it's stormy, picture postcard white when it snows. Plenty of places to walk, it is part of the Pennine Way. Village pub, stores and cafes are a ten minute walk away downhill! It is a working sheep farm so there are times when the sheep can be noisy e.g lambing, and lamb seperation. Stayed 10 days and will go again

Lovely location for walking

Lovely peaceful location, close to Caldbeck. Ideal for walking, if you get the weather (we didn't). Friendly family farm. The farm dogs roam freely, including around the pitches, and they were not so friendly to us or our dog. It didn't spoil the stay, and would recommend for a few days away from it all.

Lovely site on working farm

Stayed 3 nights over Easter. Site easy to drive to and about 11 miles from j41 on M6. Short farm lane to get to it, though it did have a few potholes which were hard to avoid! Pitches very easy to access, 3 could be driven on to and 2 need to reverse on to if you have caravan in tow. The views were lovely and especially through the mist, witj lots of sheep and lambs for company. Lovely shower with lots of hot water. Will hopefully go to this site again,

I liked it

It is a working farm so expect a little early noise, but nothing too much. We found our own hardstanding and with a little investigating and wandering due to no signage we found the excellent and seperate toilet and shower rooms. Brilliant pub in the village 5 minutes away and the Cumbrian Way also passes through the village.

Very enjoyable stay

Just spent the Easter Weekend at this CL, it was a pleasure meeting the owners Liz and Robert Mounsey, it's a working farm so do expect early mornings but the views are lovely and it's close to Caldbeck and Hesketh Newmarket.

Peaceful location

This CL truly is peaceful, as long as you don't mind the odd baa or cluck! The farm track is in good condition; no big potholes and no issues if you take it steady. The owners weren't around when I arrived, so my only little niggle with this CL is the lack of a notice board and any signage. I chose one of the spare pitches. Some of them are situated so that you can drive on forward or reverse, which is handy. I had to ask to find the chemical waste disposal and never did locate the toilet/shower (not an issue for me but I think a bit of signage would be really helpful). Both Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket are within walking distance, lovely country villages but I didn't try any of the pubs.

Nice little CL

We stayed on this CL for a couple of nights and would recommend it to anybody who wants a quiet getaway. There was nobody around when we arrived so we picked a hard standing and sited the camper. There are taps at the top and bottom of the CL and all the hookups are within 3 or 4 metres. The amps on the supply must be quite high as nothing tripped out even with several appliances on. This is a working farm and there are sheep in the fields close to the CL but they didn't cause us any problems and it was the same with the chickens, the farm also produces free range eggs. We eventually met the lady who runs the CL and she was very helpful, there is a toilet and free shower and plenty of hot water. Caldbeck and Hesketh Newmarket are near the CL and are handy for the papers and the pub. We cycled around the area and we would recommend the Friends Meeting house in Mosedale for a stop for lunch, sorry no beer but the tea was good and the prices were more than reasonable. Its fairly easy cycling country around this area, undulating rather than hilly. We will be returning at some time in the near future.

First Class

Stayed for three nights, Arrival and welcome was excellent, very friendly owners. Toilet and shower facilities were spotless. Five hard standings with easy access and views over countryside. Will certainly return, and would recommend to all club members. Local pub in Caldbeck within easy waking distance.

Very nice place to stay

Stayed for 2 nights & would have been happy to stay longer. Very welcoming owners and a peaceful location. Walking distance of a couple of nice villages (both with pubs & things to see and do) & also handy for exploring the wider Lakeland area.
