Well lets start from arrival was met by donny the owner and that just set the tone for our break, very friendly guy who is developing the site with some great upgrades and showed me around, we was in the top field i did use my mover into position but i could have managed without i did need blocks to level, new toilets and shower very clean, chemical disposal and recycling bins around the back, one water tap on our field only three grass pitches so more than enough, grey water drain, the jewel for me was the fishing lake very well kept grounds even if you dont fish. met a few regulars all very friendly and full of advice. we only had two nights but already plan to return for longer. Thanks for making us so welcome.
Very attractive and peaceful
This is a lovely little site but access could be difficult with a caravan without a motor mover. The Bowland field is sloping and it takes a bit of manoeuvring to get into and out of the pitches. There are plenty of extra blocks available to help with the slope. The directions from the motorway sound complicated but it was actually quite easy to reach. It's very tucked away and peaceful and the fishing lake makes it a very attractive site. The fact that there are two separate fields makes it seem smaller than it is. Cannot comment on the curry - but it was offered.

Great, smashing, super.
Just had a three night stay at one of the best CL sites. Donny is so welcoming and friendly. Really picturesque setting and excellent facilities. Lovely level walks from site. Couldn't fault it. Freddie the Labrador loved it.
Motor Homing with a Difference.
I have just come back after a few days at Thursland Hill Fisheries CL. Gorgeous site, grass with a row of sycamores down one side. Donny and Preeti were excellent hosts. There are great walks to be had from the camp site. I would recommend: (1) walking across the fields to Thurnham Hall (actually a hotel) for morning coffee and then along the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal tow path to Glasson Dock for a fish and chip lunch; or (2) walking across the fields down to Cockersand Abbey (the remaims of) and then following the Lancashire Coastal Way, past Plover Scar Light House, round to Glasson Dock. In Glasson I would recommend a visit to the Port of Lancaster Smoke House for locally smoked kippers. From Glasson you can walk back to the CL along Jeremy Lane and across the fields. And the “difference”? Preeti makes excellent curries delivered to your unit. I will be returning if only for the curry.
Fabulous place
Fabulous place and an added bonus of a curry on a Saturday night. There is also fresh coffee and cake available that is also open to walkers. Lovely peaceful site the fishing is fabulous too hubby fishes whilst I sit and relax.
A delightful surprise on the marshes
This is indeed a little gem, and i wish we could have stayed longer. Daunting security, but when you get used to phoning the magic number which opens and closes the gate it is straightforward. Donny texted us before we arrived, and was there to welcome us and recommend which field to go into. The fishing lake makes it very attractive, despite the flat and open surroundings. The delights of Lancaster are only a few minutes' drive away, and there are plenty of places to visait in the area. Donny is a remarkable man who has done many things in his life: I tried to encourage him to write an autobiography.

Super, relaxing site with great views
We stayed for 4 nights last week - really enjoyed our stay. Clean, tidy, well organised little site. Owner extremely friendly and helpful - try their home made Indian food! Great views. Very peaceful. Walking and cycling routes from the site. One of the best we’ve stayed on.

Peaceful and friendly site
Such a peaceful site, and Donny and his family are very welcoming. The set up leads to tranquility. We had a small field to ourselves which was wonderful as we have reactive dogs (this was luck of the draw as there is EHU for 2 vans) but Donny was equally understanding of our dogs needs. The fishing is right outside, a lovely setting, and plenty of bites!! Oh and if you go on a Saturday then definitely get the curry and desert delivered to your van!!
There are no amenities walkable, but I’m sure Donny would assist if anything was needed.
Only minor criticism would be that the fields aren’t particularly flat, but manageable (no hard standing, bring your chucks!!) and the fishing was charged ‘per time’, a fixed fee would fit better, and help make the most of the experience.
We will definitely be back!
Gem of a place
A wonderful place, with everything you need for a very relaxing stay. Made fabulous by Donny, Priti and family who couldn’t have been more welcoming. Don’t miss the chance of a home-cooked Indian meal if there over a weekend. Lovely walk around the coast nearby, and an easy flat cycle route to Lancaster, Morecambe and beyond. Highly recommended!
Little Gem
Stayed for 5 nights not long enough. Donny is great and most welcoming lovely quite site with lots of walks. We will be back.
