It's a ten for Len

The site entrance is easy to spot from the main road, clearly displaying the Caravan Club logo and a sign for Tower Fields. The gate is secured and we were greeted by Lenny and his son in law who walked us down to where we could pitch. Our first impression of the site was of a spacious, manicured field with a tree lined driveway and clean well maintained facilities. Our location was perfect for accessing the sunshine coast and the site was perfect for our two young children to chase around and explore, as we had clear visibility of them from our caravan. A very relaxing break with friendly hosts. Thank you. We will be back.

Lovely CL

Beautifully kept, secure CL with lovely flat pitches. There is a lovely feeling of space as the grounds are over 2 acres and Les' tree lined drive is very attractive. Great spot for us to visit our friends. Will definitely be back! Thank you Les.

Lovely spacious CL

Had a really wonderful time at this CL. The location is easy enough to get to with the site entrance easy to find. Very spacious and perfect for a family trip to that area of Essex. Southend-on-sea just a short drive away. Thank you Len for a great stay!

Idyllic Location

We arrived in May to a warm welcome from Len the owner of the site, which is beautifully kept. Every morning we were woken by the (rare for us) call a Cuckoo. This set the days to visit the many places of interest, Wallasea Island - nature reserve, Maldon - Thames barges, Old Leigh - for a seafood pub lunch or Two Tree Island - more nature, just so much to see and do.

Very clean and tidy

We stayed at the end of July. Very warm welcome. Len was full of helpful information. Clean and tidy site with the use of picnic benches. Will stay again. Very flat grass pitches.

Peaceful site

It was easy to find the site, just look out for the small sign just on the bend. Len made us so welcome, and did like a chat. Site is so well looked after and level. There are seven walks around and a visit to the pier is a must. The small hamlet of Leigh on sea is worth a visit. I would recommend this site as a base to visit the area.

Idyllic

Went last May bank holiday. Nice welcome from Len. Nice and quiet but easy access to attractions. Rayleigh is not far away and you can get all you need there. There is a pub about a mile away but we chose not to go there. Wanted to walk there but no footpaths.  Would definitely visit again. Len called us after we left to advise we'd left our water barrel handle behind but unfortunately we were on our way home and didn't want to turn back.

An excellent little site

We used this site whilst visiting relatives in the area. There had been a heavy rain storm shortly before we arrived so Len kindly positioned the caravan for us with his tractor. Great to have electric hook-up and there's a lot of room so vans are spaced well apart giving privacy for those needing it (there was only one other van on the site when we were there and they seemed to be regular visitors. We'll certainly use Tower Field again if we're in the area.

HIDDEN GEM

Have been to this site many times now. The owner 'Len' always gives a warm welcome, meeting you at the gate on arrival and is more than happy to answer any questions you may have. The site itself is totally hidden from the entrance road, and although the actual pitches are on the described half an acre, there is much more field space around you. Very little road noise during the day and night. Straightforward road walk to the riverside pubs. Local shops and takeaways just around the corner. Immaculate site and very peaceful. Really would recommend trying this one out.

Not suitable for year-round use

This was our first and last visit to this CL. Booked because they offered hardstanding which given the heavy rain ahead of our visit, meant we were not detered. However, the hardstanding is best described as a narrow driveway at the far end of the site, alongside a large farm/industrial building, a parking area and two permanent caravans.  Sadly this meant we spent our Easter in little more than a car park and double-parked with another caravan immediately in front of us. Unsurprisingly this couple decided to leave a day early, and although not their fault, meant we had to pack up and move to allow them to exit the site. Could be a nice site if you can get on the CL pitches but is not capable of being a year-round site.
