Superb CL in the Cotswolds!

We were booked in here for a couple of weeks but ended up extended our stay as we really enjoyed it. The pitches themselves are very spacious and looked after. Definitely value for money here! The owners were absolutely terrific, made us feel at home and helped with anything we needed. Lovely walks from the site and the surrounding area is beautiful. We had a small issue with the ground due to the heavy rain we have experienced but that is to be expected this time of year. There are 2 ways into the farm but I there is only one proper entrance through Chalford itself past the Chalford sports centre here it is very easy to access. Thank you so much for such a brilliant stay!

Wonderful CL

We stayed for three nights at this perfect CL site and cannot praise it highly enough. The very spacious site was beautifully maintained with excellent facilities, a very nice friendly owner and a lovely view. We would recommend this site to everyone. Just one handy hint regarding directions. After you turn off the main road (A419) you drive for approximately two thirds of a mile before reaching "the school" and after that its plain sailing. Lots to do in the area, fabulous walking, Stroud Saturday market and a couple of National Trust places to visit. Thank you.

Excellent site - check the price first though

Spacious site, very well maintained, though check the price beforehand as we paid 50% more than the quoted price in the book and website. The site is easy to access if you follow the directions, but when you get there, the CAMC sign is behind the wall and not visible from the road! The instructions say that the entrance is in front of you, but the site is further on - they mean further on up the drive, NOT up the road, Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful Site

A big site with loads of space between pitches with water and electric on each pitch. Views of the countryside and sunsets were lovely. In terms of directions, we looked at google maps and struggled to match it to the directions given. You must follow their directions or you will be in trouble. The directions could use some extra information like after the turnoff from the A419, you travel up a hill for approximately 1.5-2 miles before you get to the Thomas Keeble School. From there follow the directions completely. One day we left in the car and went a different way and regretted it as the roads are tiny and many of them say they are unsuitable for motor vehicles. So stay with the directions!! Overall we would say this is a good site. If you like to be in the countryside with access to a local friendly pub and lots of walks on your doorstep - this is for you.

Nice quiet large open site

Lovely big open space which had easy access for our 7m motorhome. There is a pub within easy walking distance (5 mins) and plenty of other local walks in the area. On pitch water point and electric hook up. No grey water drainage point on site though.

Great walking CL

We have just spent four lovely nights here. There is a friendly pub five minutes walk away, and more within ten minutes drive. France Lynch and Chalford are charming, like Cornish fishing villages without the sea! We saw a shooting star, deer in the next field (twin fauns) heard owls, saw stunning sunsets and had great walks, especially along the canal. Owner very friendly when I caught up with him, his son does a great job keeping the grass short. Easy dog walking through the adjacent stubble fields. There are storage facilities in the farm buildings which generate more than the usual amount of farm traffic, but it didn't bother us. Re instructions, when you are next to the Kings Head pub sign the farm entrance is visible straight ahead of you, as the lane drops down to the right.

Hidden gem

Great site, very peaceful location with great views of the Cotswold. Individual hook up and water which is very convenient. Only stayed one night but would definitely go back if we are in the area.

One of the best CL's we have visited

I had read the review about maybe having trouble if you missed the site entrance and so took to Google Maps beforehand. This was very useful in avoiding any overshoot. We drove up through the site entrance and approached the actual pitching area via a tree lined road. The site is lovely and the grass kept closely cut. We pitched sideways on, as there is so much room, and had lovely views across the area, with a hedge at the rear. Levelling blocks were required. Each electric hook up point has a water tap on it. Dog walking is excellent on the farm itself and there were even wild deer about in the fields. The weather was excellent and, as we had relations staying in a cottage nearby, did not spend too much time on the site but that did not stop us deciding it was one of the nicest CL's we have visited. We will return here when in the area. The only criticism, if it can be classed as that, was it took 3 visits before I could pay the owners! I can only presume that the lack of reviews is other visitors trying to keep it a secret.

Not our best CL experience

Horribly difficult to find! If you get it wrong - you will have serious problems with the tiny narrow roads and stone walls either side. The entrance is very badly pot-holed. Once past this, it's flat and good tarmac. Very high and very exposed, so it's windy and cold, even on fairly good days. There was a mis-understanding about the pitch fee per night, which was not handled very well by the owner.

Winter visit requires thermals

Everything you need is on hand, easy to find and access. Great little pub nearby. Owner warm and friendly will revisit when weather better. Visited in match so pretty cold on high ground. Stroud very near with a great Saturday market. Well worth a visit.
