This was our second visit to Welltrough Hall and the site was still as immaculate as on the previous occasion. Nick works extremely hard to maintain such a high standard. Since our previous visit coin operated electric meters have been installed, we spent around £2 to £3 per day on energy however in the colder months this would be a lot more expensive if using electric heating. During our stay we visited Jodrell Bank, RHS Bridgwater, and the Nation Trust properties at Quarry Bank and Little Morton Hall all within relatively comfortable driving distances. It’s well well the short walk to The Old Pub on Trap Street where you will receive a Warm Welcome and Tasty Food! We will definitely visit Welltrough again in the Future !
Great rural location
Easy to get from M6 or M60, set within farmland with open, sweeping views. Extremely quiet, adult only with lots of space between large pitches. Nick, who is the busy owner, found time to give advice and a friendly wave.
The site is well managed and in good order but, even though I fully appreciated the security, I felt the Caravan Club paddock did not warrant its own security gate as the other two gates did the job just fine.
The site has expanded beyond a 5 pitch CL but the original CC area still commands the prime location at the top of the lightly wooded hillside leaving open views.
We made full use of our own onboard facilities aided by each pitch having its own water and grey water drain. Another WC would be an improvement. First time we have used a site with its own electricity meter which worked out at £2 to £3 per day but it could be very expensive in cold weather.
Certainly worthy of another visit.
Outstanding
It has all been said before about this site. It’s one of the very best. Lovely views, great location, spacious and immaculately maintained pitches, and even a mown 3 km walk around the farm. We will be returning on our next trip in the area.
Beautiful views
Beautiful views and very quiet. First time there and will definitely go again.

Perfect stopover on journey home
Stayed here twice last year but on trip to Devon this year could only get a pitch booked for the return journey so definitely better to book this well in advance. The site is picture perfect and as we have a dog then being able to walk her as soon as we stop is ideal. Nick maintains well cut grass paths around the perimeter of his and an adjoining farm and you can walk for nearly an hour in tranquil solitude with nature all around if that’s your thing.
The fully serviced pitches are beautifully maintained (electricity now by coin meter maybe £2-3/day dependant on your usage and a coin dispenser has been installed on site) and there are a couple of w/c’s and showers on site although these are also shared with his commercial site.
You can walk to a pub from the site although we have always chosen the Crown at Goostrey as we head out to refuel anyway for the onward journey the next day. At some point we will make this a destination as opposed to a stopover.

Outstanding views
Stunning views. Large pitches on the CL. Well maintained, grass freshly mowed. Only 1 shower and Loo close by but managed to get a shower with out queuing. Although not a problem on a serviced pitch to use your own. Only used £2.50 per night on the electric. Off road walk to the pub (although we didn’t use the pub). Very pleasant walk. Easy access to the site. Will be back.
A wonderful CL with stunning views
We’ve stayed twice at this CL and are looking forward to returning next month.
We’ve always had a wonderful welcome from Nick, the owner, who runs an immaculate site. The views are spectacular and the nature walk around the farm estate is a lovely and well thought out touch as is the mown path to the local pub!
The location in central Cheshire is really convenient for visiting all the lovely places like Tatton Hall near Knutsford, Alderly Edge, Maccelsfield and Peak District are just 20 minutes away with the potteries only a bit further down to the south. It’s also convenient as a stop over with the M6 junction at Holmes Chapel only ten minutes away. Highly recommend.
Love this site so much we keep going back
We have stay at this site a couple of times this year, we love this site, it’s clean, very well maintained, even the 4km dog walk around the fields is regularly cut and maintained, every pitch has a fantastic view of the countryside, the toilets and shower cubicles are clean, this is one of those sites that you can’t find a fault, and end up wanting to go back. Thank you nick for providing a top class caravan site. We will be back soon.
This is the best CL site in the country.
What an amazing site! Every pitch has a fabulous view and the facilities are great. There is an exclusive secure pitch up area for club members. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.
Perfect site with wonderful views
Only a brief one night stay but impressed with the standard of the site. All well kept and built to a very good standard. Would stay again if in the area quite happily. 'just like the photos'
