Westcroft - Twyning / Tewksbury

Excellent located site near the lovely village of Twyning and town of Tewksbury, you can walk into Tewksbury along the River Avon from Twyning. We have used this site a few times now predominantly as a stop over heading to and from either the south of the UK or catching a ferry to France from Northwest England. Great accessibility from the M5 / M50. Relaxed feel about the site, very friendly owners, nothing is to much trouble.

Superb Little site

Lovely site and owner, very helpful. Over looking paddock with VERY friendly ponies (don't forget their apples or carrots, they will be your friends for life) Minimal traffic noise in the distance definitely not a problem, as can be proved by the birds song in the morning. Easy walk into the village (0.6 miles) to the well stocked shop! lots of walks for your dog if needed. River Avon within a mile. (went for 3 nights, stayed for 4) Definitely return when in the area.

Nice Friendly Welcoming Site

Lovely quiet place to stay with great fishing!! Steve was really welcoming, friendly & accommodating. Is well positioned for stop overs on the way to and from Devon, Cornwall & Wales. Also has 2 nice pubs in the village 15 mins walk away. We'll definitely be revisiting this site in the future.

Superb location

Steve and his family were extremely welcoming. We stayed there 28 nights whilst moving home and It was like home from home. It is the site of a fishery and riding school so the owners were very busy but always had time for a chat about local advice or assistance. Situated about 3 miles from the M5 just off the M50, it’s the ideal place for a stopover. Really felt like home for the time we were there. Thoroughly recommended.

Outstanding CL

This CL is situated on a farm which has a riding school and fishing lakes. On arrival the toilet facilities were shared with customers of the fishing lakes, but Steve was just completing a new toilet facility for sole use of CL as we left. This is a very nice, fairly flat site, ideal as a base for exploring Glos, Worcs and Herefordshire which we did, but also perfect stop over for travelling from North to Devon and Cornwall. Everyone involved in the site is very friendly, and helpful with suggestions of places to visit, local amenities etc. There is a small supermarket and 2 pubs in Twyning, about 15 minute walk, and you can walk along the river to Tewkesbury, about 3 miles. The site is perfectly situated close to main road and motorway junctions, but far enough away to be a very quiet location. We had a fabulous time here, and will use the site again for sure.

Tranquil site

A great place to relax, this is a small adult only site in a great spot. There are horses in the next field with fishing a lakes within walking distance. The owners go out of their way to help you and are very friendly.

Great owners acceptable site

Like the previous reviewer we stayed on this site this summer. Email communication with the owners was exceptional. We were touring and our other dates changed several times each time a quick email was all that was needed to tweak our booking at West Croft. I would highly recommend this site if you wanted to use the fishing lakes or had arranged something with the riding stables. The forth picture in the gallery with the gate, driveway and 2 trees is the site. Unless you’re going fishing or riding at the stables you won’t see the things featured in the other pictures. There’s a paddock next door and clearly various improvement projects going on in terms of drainage hence the “rubble & farm equipment” comment from the previous reviewer. A bit harsh in my opinion. At £20 a night it’s expensive for a CL. It’s a fairly small site so will feel crowded if fully booked. My partner visited the toilets once and told me not to use it unless it was an emergency. There are 2 wooden gates a little too close together and one has dropped so you have to pull it up in order to open or close it (not great if you’re an OAP). We would book again if we were touring the area and couldn’t get a pitch as another site.
