A little gem

As the title say this is a gem of a site.We stayed on it in early July when the weather had been bad and the field normally used was water logged but no problem there are hard standings that can be used and this was where we were, right in front of the "jet provost".There are 2 toilets (1 disable) and a shower (20p in honesty box) both are old but in good condition and are heated. There is a museum on site telling the history of the airfield which is open Wednesdays and weekends and some old wartime buildings. The site is quiet and peaceful with a variety of wildlife to sit and watch in the evenings. For those with an interest in aircraft the sit e is ideally situated for Woodhall Spa (Dambuster Memorial), Coningsby (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight), East Kirkby (Lincolnshire Aviation Museum) and many other places of interest. The site does have a rally field so it would be wise to check if a rally is on when you want to visit. All in all a 1st class C.L well worth a visit and all for the current price of £8.00 a night.
