A lovely peaceful location

We had six days at Weston House in May and would have loved to stay longer but they were fully booked over the bank holiday. A pleasant, quiet site in a lovely rural setting, the facilities are not extensive but are adequate. The pitches have been improved and now have partial paving. There was some noise from agricultural traffic late into the evening, apparently it is the silage season, so the farmers were making hay whilst the sun (or moon) shone. A perfect location for star gazers or bird watchers, I wish I'd taken binoculars with me. There were nightly visits by a Barn Owl, but sadly we managed to miss it. Maybe next time. Our dog loved romping in the meadow and we had the option of walking him in the adjacent fields and woodland. Perfectly located to take in the numerous attractions that Shropshire has to offer, we really could have done with the extra few days, there is just so much to see and do. Mobile phone coverage is patchy and there was no 3g signal at all, so on site wifi would have been a benefit. TV and satellite signals were fine. The proximity of a metal barn and the overhead power cables played havoc with my compass, so satellite set up was a bit more involved than usual (from pitch 1, aim for the left hand oak tree in the next field). We really enjoyed our stay and would happily use this site again.
