Beautiful gem off a site

What a view it most definitely was. A very peaceful site with amazing views with just the sound off the horses and cows. Lovely walk across fields to local pub a little less than 10 minutes more into the village which has lots off places to eat. Was welcomed by Teri the owner very lovely lady who made the effort to visit all newcomers Easy booking via email with instructions on where to pitch We are already planning our next visit, highly recommend this lovely site Karen and Gary

Amazing view

Lovely CL with very friendly and helpful owner. Clear and easy to follow instruction to find the site and what to do o your arrival. It's a brilliant place if you like walking as there are many footpaths from the site and you can walk for miles, as we did. We will definitely return.

It is indeed a view!

We spend a glorious weekend at this wonderful CL. The view was amazing, the glorious weather helped! Great location for exploring the local area and we rode along the North Dorset Trailway, stopping at Shillingstone Station for a coffee, bacon bap and live country music. An easy stroll into Sturminster Newton to see the beautiful Mill. The six young cows that live in the field were delightful and ever so inquisitive, and I spotted a Magie Moth resting on my Aquaroll (this I cannot guarantee for your visit, but everything else I can. Super helpful hosts. A wonderful CL. Elaine and Michael

A wonderful site

This CL went beyond our expectations in the beauty of its setting. Marvellous views, lots of bird life and fantastic walks - best to use an ordnance survey map as some are a bit complicated. Very peaceful too, and just what we needed. We successfully used the 3 words App to arrive as you can’t use Sat Nav. Terri and Martin are very helpful and friendly and we are definitely going to return.

Had a good 3 night stay in our motorhome. Very quiet and peaceful. Good dog walks and foot paths. Would thoroughly recommend.

Perfect CL Site

Whataview CL campsite has become a real favourite for us. It’s only 40 minutes from our home in Poole Dorset, and ideally located as a base for exploring the Dorset countryside. The views over the Blackmore Vale are just stunning, and we frequently see hot air balloons drifting with the breeze, and birds of prey. Whataview offers a great compromise between wild camping and a full blown campsite. Beautifully peaceful, secure, but with the essential services. Terri and Martin are very caring and welcoming. We love it here, and all on a working farm. Ian & Bev Poole

Beautiful Views

I stayed here in May and hopefully will return soon .I highly recommend this site. Greeted by lovely owner Terri, very friendly and helpful. Small site with basic facilities, just how I like it and is reflected in the price. Two water taps, EHU, toilet emptying and grey water point, small shed with local info. It is situated on a farm so obviously a little noise but overall very peaceful place to stay. Dog walking from site is just bliss, lots of public foot paths. We did several walks from site to local town, pub and tourist sites. The panoramic view is just lovely as are the night skies. Birdsong is wonderful saw deer, rabbits , birds. Do your due diligence on towing in follow the owners instructions of what 3 words. The Dorset roads are notoriously narrow try to avoid towing through Sturminster Newton if at all possible , it is passable but busy and narrow. Hopefully return soon its a real gem of a site Thank you .

Enjoyable stay in beautiful Dorest Countryside

The views from this CL site are certainly exceptional. On arrival we were made very welcome by Mrs Terri Rose and provided with information on local walks. The site is a reasonable size, fairly level and located in quiet Dorset countryside. We enjoyed a walk to the quaint town of Sturminster Newton and walking to the fine Fiddleford Inn via the beautiful Piddle Woods. Unfortunately, for the last couple of days of our stay, there was a lot of noise during the day with dust and a strange odour coming from a field adjacent to the site. This appeared to be due to the delivery of large quality of some form of compost for the field. I was also surprised with the arrangement for the disposal of chemical toilet waste. This required the removal of a plastic inspection cover of the septic tank and poring the waste directly into the septic tank. This seemed to me to be rather unsanitary and unpleasant.

Great Walking

What a View CL is basic but the location, with its access to public footpaths is fantastic. You can walk for miles around the beautiful Dorset Countryside. Our dog loved it! The pitches are large with a fantastic vista. If you want to observe the night skies then this is the place for you. Tranquil and unspoilt. Very little light pollution and only the sounds of owls. You will see bats, deer and if you get up early enough you might even see a Hare. Very friendly hosts. Escape to the country. A great CL

Certainly lives up to the name!

We spent a wonderful three nights here in late April, a really lovely spot to stay. Easy to find and well signed off the road to the caravan field, great communication from the owners and a nice welcome. We enjoyed many walks across tracks and fields, all of which were very well sign posted, also a walk into Sturminster Newton and a lovely lunch at once of the cafes, Stur of the Moment. A site we will be returning to again.
