Stop over.

My wife and I stayed for three nights on our way home from Yorkshire. Site is vey big so you have plenty of space. It needs more water taps. The grass is cut but not very well. The site is rather noisy as the lane running along side the site is used as a rat run which is a shame. If there was a couple of taps down by the cannel you could pitch-up on the cannel bank and possibly it would be less noisy. It's very pleasant to sit and watch the barges go by on the cannel with a cuppa. Dave & Sheila Lambert. Liphook, Hampshire.

My favourite CL

Having stayed on 49 CLs, this is the only one we have stayed on 3 times. It is our favourite. So relaxing watching the narrow boats go by and all the friendly entertaining ducks. Great views as well if you don't pitch too close to the water. Vast field of beautifully kept grass with a gentle slope down to the water. Very easy access from A5 and M1. This week we had a very interesting visit to Charles Renee Macintosh house in Northampton.

Canalside CL

This canal side CL is popular due to it's peaceful location and ease of access a sort distance from the A5. The site is sloping but if you choose to pitch either at the very top or very bottom of the site it is not too bad. There are 3 EHU bollards scattered around the site which are give 9 hookups - which are needed as the site very often goes over the 5 outfits limit on site. There is only one water point at the top of the filed so a trek for those pitched at the bottom (and an inconvenience for motor homers) The elsan disposal is at the top of the site and on the opposite side of the access road - quite a way to carry a heavy load for some. Lovely walks along the canal to either Weedon to Heyford. Onsite duck population very friendly as are the passing narrow boaters. On a sunny afternoon it is a very pleasant place to be.

Lovely Site

This was our first stay on a CL having previously only stayed on larger sites and we loved it. The site is spacious and tranquil with lovely views of the countryside and Grand Union Canal. The Narrowboat Inn is just a short walk away along the towpath and we could have happily spent our time here without moving the car but there's loads of interest in the local area for us too. We will be back it's just a shame we don't live closer to this brilliant site.

Beautiful site

We had a lovely few days at this site and agree with other reviews. The only downside was the toilet emptying facility which would benefit from having the animals fenced off from it as had to wade through their toilet emptying to get to it and none too clean when actually emptying the toilet. Such a shame as we would love to return but for this reason would think twice. CL lover.

We visit this site as often as can get in!!

Love this site. It's lovely to sit and watch the boats go past, my husband fishes whilst I read and drink a glass of wine. There is a Tesco extra not far from the site and a lovely pub The Heart Of England which does good food also you can walk to the Narrow Boat pub at the end of the road although the food is rather expensive and service a little erratic as it's a very very busy pub. There is a plethora of take always just in Weedon next to the Heart pub, Inc an Indian, Chinese and Fish a chip shop take away. (The Indian restaurant is fabulous) There are antique shops to mooch around in Weedon, the next village and several lovely villages near by for a wonder should you want to leave the site, Towcester, Daventry, Rugby and Stoke Bruer are close by too. Some lovely country houses are not far: Althorp House, Holenby House to name just two. But we never really leave the site! We just relax and enjoy being in our van. Only gripe is the price as there are always more then five vans. There are some roadworks going to start not far from the site soon. Just hope they don't affect the peace and quiet.

Great site

As earlier reviews the site is well kept and views are worth the visit relaxing and watching the boats pass slowly by .The site its self has 9EHU  which allows plenty of choice .It was just a pity that on arriving at 12.00   out of nine EHU seven were taken limiting choice of pitch,so a total of eight on site till late afternoon.

Excellent CL

This site is idyllic, canal boats motor pass your caravan in a well kept field with excellent EHU, H2o and Toilet disposal facilities, local pub a short walk away and close to facilities. Easy access, field has an incline so bring your caravan levellers, if it's winter or wet don't go down to canal side as you will struggle getting off unless you have a 4x4 but in dryer weather you'll not have a problem, will definately return here, fabulous CL! ??

Overnight Stop

We used this C L for an overnight stop. It was so pleasant to leave the motorway and stop at this peaceful, with views of the canal, ducks at your door, site. We shall return just for the views, let alone the peace and quiet.

Picturesque site

Excellent site, slightly sloping but you have the option of level pitches at the top of the site. Suberb rural and riparian views, you can look right in the portholes of passing narrow boats! Slight road noise but this is more than compensated by the space on site and the ability to walk along the towpath to the pub. Walks along the towpath in both directions, fishing on site at extra cost, and access to inumerable local places of interest all contribute to the attraction of this site.
