Scenic site

Lovely canal-side site, which was useful as our friends with a narrowboat were able to moor opposite. Site slopes and waste disposal is over the road, but views more than made up for this. Fishing in canal available, pubs nearby, supermarket in Weedon plus Indian and Chinese restaurants, very good. Will definitely be back

Brilliant!

We love this site and our fifth visit. Plenty of space,  fantastic views and very relaxed. There are lovely walks along the canal tow paths as well as fishing from the bank or you can just watch the boats going up and down.  Yes the site is sloping but you can always level up.  Highly recommended.

Great CL but....

I fully concur with other reviewers, this CL is in a lovely position overlooking the canal. Plenty of room in which to pitch, even when there were 10 units on the site as there was on our final night. 3 of our other 4 nights saw over 5 units also. This is very disappointing and talking to another caravanner, who stayed the same 5 nights as us, they were not happy either. They said the owner blamed a computer fault. For one, maybe two nights perhaps, but not four nights and 10 units either. Double income of course - perhaps a nice gesture would be to donate the extra income to charity(or buy a new computer).

Fantastic waterside C.L

This is a great site right next to the canal. We arrived and the site was empty so we pitched on the most level spot - some of the site is sloping. The instructions for new arrivals is posted to the gate and we missed this but saw it later. There is a pub that serves food as you turn off the main road to the site. It is not too far to walk. Payment is made to the owners house further along the road - it is a lovely stroll there and not too far. The chemical waste disposal is across the road but not a problem. We loved the views and watching the canal boats go slowly past. Go for a stroll down the towpath - (a stroll down the road - turn left and go to the bridge to gain access) We will return for sure.

Excellent

Excellent location next to canal, great views, very nice walks along the canal, the site was kept very tidy. The chemical toilet disposal is across the road but very easy to access. We will certainly use again

Nice Stopover

Pleanty of space to choose from, only staying 1 night "en-route" so didn't use Electric. parked right next to Canal, site gently sloping so motorhome was on an angle to make level inside, which was nice as it gave us a good view of the boats coming past. Lovely walk to the Pub via the owners house - to make sure we paid - along the canal. Will remember it for the future. This was our first CL, so I hope they are all like this!

Our first CL

This was our first stay at a CL and it has wetted our appetite for more. Beautiful location on the bank of the grand union canal allowing us to sit in the sunlight, waving to narrow boats passing, watching the ducks and ducklings. Steep slope down to the side of the canal so levelling blocks required.

Stunning!

What a stunning location next to the Grand Union Canal.  The site is beautiful, well maintained and all the services easy to access. Our dog Max was very welcome and he enjoyed fantastic walks up and down the canals. The local pubs are excellent and a great place to explore the beautiful villages.  If you like watching boats pass by this is perfect! Highly recommended.

Family visit

Four adults, three kids and the dog in two vans again.  Another little gem quite close to home! We had lots of fun and did not leave the site much. Great watching the boats go by and walk along the canal. Lots of space for the kids to play and not be over looking other vans. Yes the £14 is at the top end of what we like to pay (£10 would be more appropriate) but we really liked the location and only stayed 2 nights. Another we will be going back to.

Peace and Beauty

Reading the previous review just shows we aren’t all looking for the same things in life! We absolutely loved this CL. Yes, the field did have a gentle slope but it wasn’t a problem, yes we did have to go down the road to the owner’s cottage to pay and yes the water tap was at the top of the field which meant the barrel just needed gentle guiding back to the caravan. The facilities were just a tap (with a hose and hard paving) and a chemical disposal which was basic but adequate for a CL. However there are also 3 acres of pristine well cut lawn directly edging onto the canal and 3 EHU posts which enable you to pitch wherever you fancy. We pitched within feet of the canal and enjoyed the all the wildlife on the water including all the little ducklings as well as conversations with the passing narrow boats. If you choose to pitch higher up the field, you then have the bonus of wonderful views across the valley. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and watch the boats chug by, look no further. We were worried that the M1 and the train line would be a problem and although there was a very slight hum, this did not detract from our peaceful stay. The canal path was good for walking and cycling south – north follows too close to the M1. There is a pub 10 minutes along the towpath. A perfect Cl for those of us who enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Highly recommended.
