Welcoming hosts
Chose this site as a weekend away May bank holiday to visit Gainsborough Old Hall, and was interested to learn how we would cope “ off grid”. Proved to be an inspired choice as its location was superb for us and Abraham and Aiesha were at hand to make sure we had a great stay. There’s an old historic windmill a short walk away that is open on a Saturday where Ian will enthusiastically show you around ( thanks again Ian ). Gainsborough Old Hall is very interesting/ Gainsborough isn’t apart from Gainsborough Heritage Centre. Retford was a nice little town with a variety of shops. We also cycled to Idle Valley nature reserve. The site is also close to Sundowners Theme Park for those visitors with small children.
Ther is a cabin with a shower, toilet and sink and another with sink , toilet. Both were very clean and shower hot.
Overall this is a super site that can only get better as Abraham is very passionate about improving his site. We will definitely be making a return for a visit again.
