Excellent Value and Pleasant Stay

We chose this CL based on its location, facilities, pricing and reviews. It was easy to find with accurate directions in the handbook and pitches were level and spacious (3 x hard-standing and 2 x grass). The water tap and waste facilities were at one end of the pitch row and were well-marked and clean. A fresh tap filler hose was available if needed. Eco-friendly toilet fluid is requested to avoid damage to the system. Jackie was seen after pitching and was friendly and helpful. She was active during our stay in cleaning and grass-cutting so the site was kept clean and tidy. Payment can either be made personally or left in an external tin safe. During our stay there was some noise from passing aircraft from nearby Yeovilton and elsewhere and the traffic noise from roads is distant. Some distant motor racing event took place on the Saturday night that could be heard - origin unknown. However, none of this was too intrusive to spoil our stay. There are farm animals in nearby fields but the site didn't appear to be an active farm. We found a few local walks to do and visited nearby N.T. Stourhead House & Gdns. as well as the Navy Museum at Yeovilton and scenic towns/villages within striking distance. Supermarkets are available within a few miles at Gillingham or further afield at Frome, Shaftesbury or Yeovil. Overall an excellent CL and very good value for money. Thank you Jackie.

Peaceful site

Lovely site with clean facilities and a friendly owner. Well placed for visiting Stourhead and plenty of walks from the site. Judge Wyndham’s oak is a short walk from the site. The final access lane is narrow but the site is only a short distance down the lane and we had no problems as the lane is quiet. We will definitely return.

A great find

Perfect CL for visiting Stourhead, Judge Wyndhams Oak and the lovely town of Mere. Easy access for our 7.5m motorhome, very well kept pitches (3 H/S) and excellent water/disposal facilities (Eco Green only). We loved it here and would thoroughly recommend Wyndham Farm - thank you Jackie.

Perfect

We have just returned from a five day stay and this is as good a site as any I have been to over the past 20 or so years. The grass pitches were not yet in use but the hard standings are a good size, and level. The facilities are basic but impeccably kept. Stourhead is a few minutes away and many other places of interest are within easy driving distance. We shall be back.

Perfect for a visit to Stourhead!

We stayed over the first weekend of December to visit Stourhead with friends. The site is very easy to locate and access and provides a good base with easy access to EHU, water and waste disposal. In addition to Stourhead there is a free car park in Mere on Salisbury Street which is big enough for Motorhomes. Mere has a selection of pubs, shops etc. and the walk up Castle Hill is the perfect way to walk off lunch before you move on to somewhere new!

Just what you hope for in a CL.

Visited with a 23' motorhome and stayed two nights at Wyndham Farm, it is a neat, tidy, reasonably priced and well organised CL with a pleasant helpful owner. In addition current Covid precautions are thought out and relevant. Level, easily accessed site with three hard standings and two grass pitches plus hook-ups, good to see fresh water point well separated from waste disposal and the refuse disposal well organised and very tidy. Close enough to the A303 for convenience and very handy for Stourhead. I can recommend the Walnut Tree Inn in at Mere for food, about a 10 minute drive away.

One of our favourites

Easy to find, straightforward access, lovely views and peace and quiet make this CL into a little gem. There are plenty of walks, either quiet lanes or footpaths, in the area. Lots of wildlife, deer, foxes, bats etc to keep you entertained. It's certainly on our list to re-visit.
