What a Lovely Place to Stay

We stayed here for two nights last month en route to Devon. Very easy to approach from the A303 but the first thing that struck us was how quiet and peaceful this site is. And pretty well with 360deg rural views. Access is very easy and is mostly cut grass slightly undulating and dipping in places with three hardstandings beyond which are two very generous grass pitches. We chose one of these which affords so much room but did necessitate use of a levelling block which was hardly a problem. All the pitches face west meaning sunshine where you want it. As already stated elsewhere the location has lots of attractions within easy reach and we made our first visit to Shaftesbury and the famous Gold Hill. This site will surely become our regular stop off point when visiting family in the west country.

A really nice C/L

This is a very nice C/L. The location is excellent with lots to see near-by; the facilities are fine and close to the pitches; the view from the site is very pleasant; near-by Gillingham has all the supermarkets you could want ranging from Waitrose to Aldi + Lidl; there are nice pubs near-by if you want to eat out; the price is good and the proprietor friendly. We visited Stourhead for the first time and found it just amazing. Only tiny criticism: wi-fi wouldn't work, but TV reception was excellent

Lovely part of the country

We spent 2 nights on this site in mid June. We have used this site before as its a convenient place to stay in order to visit my elderly mother who lives locally. However aside from that, it is a charming CL in lovely peaceful countryside with spacious (mostly) level pitches. Its always clean and tidy, and the limited facilities all function well. We will no doubt be staying there again. PS - We saw a small deer grazing near our motor-home one evening . . . . . not at all what we expected in that area :-)

Relaxing and pleasant

Lovely warm phone call when I was booking this great little site. It has water, electric hookup, chemical disposal, three hard standing and two grass pitches. There is also Wifi which I didn't use. It's close to the A303 with easy access, the last bit being just a short third of a mile or so down a lane which has very little traffic. Nice wide entrance. I was let chose my own pitch. A short walk further down the lane, past a beautiful old mill, then via public footpath through fields to Silton Church was a perfect lenght to stretch my dogs legs. I only stayed one night but hope to be back.

Ideal location

We stayed here in our motorhome in September for 2 nights. It is a spacious well kept CL with basic facilities, and is situated in a wonderful rural location. Several of the pitches have hard standing, and are reasonably level. We used this site because it is close to Gillingham where my elderly mother lives, but it is ideally situated for visiting places like Stourhead and Longleat. All in all a very nice CL.

Good basic farm Cl

As others have said this Cl has good views on two sides and large pitches three of which are hardstanding. The road to the site is a bit narrow but access is ok even with our 7.5 metres van. The welcome was just 'go and pitch where you like' however the water and toilet emptying point were self evident once on site. We ate one night at The White Lion at Bourton which I can highly recommend.

Good site for sight seeing

We have came to this site twice 2016, on returning this year we found that Neville & Mary have made a few updates, a sign to make access easy we have a caravan 7.5 mitres long and it is no trouble for us to pull on to the site, extra drainage to roadway. There are 3 large hard standings which take a caravan and awning, also grass with EHU, beautiful views, good dog walks, Gillingham has a Waitrose, Lidl, Asda and a Co-Op. Stourhead is only 10 minutes away. The site is 2 miles off A303 making it useful for over night stop on the way to Devon and Cornwell.

New year break

Site recently taken over by new farm owners, so don't think they are Members as listed in site details. Site was easy to find, pitches spacious and well apart from each other. Entrance into farm slightly tight and on departure we had to ask owners to move vehicles, but apart from that all easy. Owner was accommodating of our request to pitch friends caravan on access track rather than hard standing to allow us to be close together. Lots to do and see in area and close to major roads, and visited Longleat and Glastonbury. Site was quite windy as not much shelter, but hardstandings coped well with the significant rainfall and only few puddles to be seen each morning. Would definitely return, as lots more to see in the area.

Nice CL

Good basic CL, 3 hard standings, 2 on grass. Quiet with nice views, easy to get to, plenty to see and do.
