Really splendid site

Yanwath Woodhouse is a splendid site with lovely walks and fine views of the Westmorland Hills and forests. This CL is on part of the Lowther Castle Estate with the River Lowther flowing nearby. Penrith is only two or three miles away with lots of supermarkets, shops, pubs and restaurants. Calor Gas is available at the holiday park just down the hill at a reasonable price. Ullswater is about five or six miles drive from the CL down the lanes beyond Pooley Bridge. The farmer at Yanwath Woodhouse is as friendly and helpful as you will ever find and sells free range eggs at the farm. The electricity supply is very good with no problems at all, the drinking water is of the best quality and the waste services are really well placed. Other reviews have mentioned the field being wet. As a northerner I can say that rain is not a phenomenon in these parts and Algiers is the place for people who are not keen on it. This CL is ideal for visiting the north lakes and a great stopover for people travelling to Scotland due to being immediately off the A6 and only five or six minutes off the M6 and with no narrow lanes or hedges to scratch the van. We have visited the site three times now and it is one of our favourites to which we will be returning.
