One of the best CLs that we have stayed on

We have just returned after spending 7 nights at Yew Tree Farm. It is an exceptional CL and highly recommended by us. Access to the site is via a wide concrete driveway through the spotless farmyard. The pitches, (4 H/S and 2 grass) are very generous and perfectly flat with good spacing between them of well mown grass. The toilets / shower room are spotless and checked at least once per day. There is only one water point and this has good water pressure so an Aquaroll fills quickly. Grey water is disposed of directly into the hedge bottom on all but one of the pitches. Rubbish is segregated into general and recyclable. WC emptying is more than adequate. Although it is a farm there is very little noise and this is mainly from the occasional train that passes about a quarter of a mile away so all in all, very peaceful. Thankyou Rachel and Grant for helping make our week's holiday so enjoyable.

Lovely site

Easy access into the site, Rachel met us on arrival and were put on pitch 6, drove straight in which gave us a lovely view of the goats, sheep and the fields. The flat pitch meant we didn't have to chock up which is always a bonus. Easy access to the canal when we found the hole and wooden bridge in the hedge, and the tow paths were good for walking on. The facilities for waste were close as were the very clean toilet and shower. We walked into Tattenhall on the FP12 footpath across the fields to avoid the roads with the dog. Unfortunately the stiles left a lot to be desired, rotten, broken with brambles and growth meaning you had to lift your dog up and over as opposed to the dog going under. Rachel said she would speak to the council about it, shame as could be a lovely off road walk. Would be very happy to stay here again if back in the area, well recommended.

Short visit to Chester

Stayed longer than expected as facilities were spotless, owner was friendly and relaxed, and a couple of places nearby to eat/visit. Recommend a stroll to the marina and the Chinese food at the Letters Inn!

Superb CL in a gorgeous location

We stayed here for just two nights on our way back from visiting Shropshire. This is a delighful CL with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The toilets/shower facilities were spacious and very clean, the site itself is very tidy with plenty of green open space, pitches are quite large and probably the most level pitch we've ever stayed on!. Beautiful views across the Cheshire countryside with plenty of walking opportunities in the area. We walked to Tattenhall, took about 40 minutes, this is a lovely little village with a couple of nice pubs, a delightful coffee shop, a supermarket and a takeaway. You can walk to the crossroads and get the bus into Chester which goes through Tattenhall or go the other way towards Whitchurch. We also had a walk to the Marina, which was lovely. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and we will definitely return to visit in the future.

Our first, but definitely not our last, visit

Just spent four nights on our first visit to Yew Tree Farm, will definitely not be our last. One of the initial reasons we picked here being its proximity to the Ice Cream Farm so we could take grandchildren there ( you must book on line for this attraction, it gets very busy). We visited the Farm twice in two days with two of our four grandchildren on each day! (They all want to go back!). A lovely warm welcome from Rachel on arrival, Grant was busy on the lawnmower! The pitch allocated to us was agreed prior to our visit but was also detailed on a board at the site entrance. We were on Pitch 6, a new large hardstanding and by going 'nose in' we had wonderful views over the hills. This was ideal as it meant the large grass area in front of the window was ideal for bat and ball games etc. for the children. There are four hardstanding and two grass pitches so everyone's preferences can be catered for. Facilities in the barn next door (shower room with toilet and wash basin and a separate second toilet next door) to the site absolutely spotless and an honesty box/fridge with milk, jams etc in the same area as well. Well laid out and immaculately maintained site. E mail prior to arrival with clear instructions and guidance for our visit. Added to our list to return for longer next time as we didnt really have time to explore the area this time ( I wonder why with an11 and 7year old on one day and a 7 and 5 year old on the next day to entertain!). Thank you Grant and Rachel, we will certainly be booking for 2023.

Lovely Site

Had 3 nights here and could have stayed longer. Spacious pitches, spotlessly clean toilet and shower. Great walks from the site and plenty of maps available to borrow. Eggs , milk and various jams available payment by an honesty box . The Pheasant pub a couple of miles away serves delicious food and is very dog friendly. I highly recommend this site

GREAT CL SITE

We have Just come home from this first class CL site. Grant & Rachel the owners are great friendly people. Nothing is to much trouble and make you very welcome always have a chat. The pitches are all well maintained and lovely and level. There is a separate toilet and a shower room with toilet. Information area with fridge & Jams, eggs, milk etc for sale which is a nice touch. The site is very peaceful even when full. Plenty of places to visit in the local area. We would highly recommend this Cl you will not be disappointed. All the best to you both Grant & Rachel hopefully we will meet again. John & Helen Chaplin

Fantastic Site

We have just come back from our first trip to this site, having stayed 4 nights. It is such a lovely site. Access to the pitches is easy and the pitches are very generously sized. I wouldn't want to stay on the grass pitch as it seemed very boggy, although it is February. There is recycling on site and plenty of bin space. There is one toilet room and then one shower room with a toilet in. The site was almost fully occupied whilst we were there and there was never a queue for the facilities. There is an honesty fridge and some lovely produce available. The ice cream factory is ridiculously busy so you will need to book even if you just want a cuppa and a cake. There is a chip shop just over a mile away Chips at No 3, the food was outstanding. All in all a really good quality site with lovely owners. We will definitely be back.

Little Gem

Although not new to camping we are new to CL sites & if this is the standard then we will be very happy. Nice relaxed welcome having been given excellent directions & information. We had a grass pitch with I think the best view! It is within walking distance to Tattenhall where we recommend Alison's cafe. Numerous walks from the site helped by the loan of maps from the information point where you could also find milk, eggs & a few other items. One toilet cubicle & one shower cubicle with toilet which were spotless. We hope to visit again.

A real gem of a site

Just had a fantastic 4 night stay on this amazing little CL, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Grant and Rachel. The site is lovely, we were on a grass pitch and it was a bit wet but all went well and it dried out due to the lovely sunshine. Loads to do in the area and we didn’t do as much as we would have liked but we have booked another five nights in August.Grant and Rachel did me and a zing favour st the end of our break and I can’t thank them enough for their help. It’s a working farm and my wife managed to bottle feed the lambs one evening. Can highly recommend
