Not the peaceful site I was led to expect

If this site is full and you're under 7 metres long you're likely to be allocated one of the worst pitches I've seen in 5 years of using CAMC sites. The pitch was on uneven elevated ground next to a road used by logging trucks and other trade vehicles from 6 am through to 6 pm. The road in general was fast and well used considering its remote location. We had difficulty working out how to park level on pitch 17 and the wardens were not helpful to the point of rudeness and I have raised a complaint directly with the club. There were plenty of parkups in the immediate area around the site that looked flatter, safer and quieter if you're not after electric hookup. The water on site is not advisable to drink neither would I personally want to run it through my Motorhome.

Comment from the Club:

Thank you for your review and we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. The Site Staff have been in touch as they work incredibly hard to ensure our members have the best possible time on their Club campsite. On arrival there was a choice of 2 pitches and the site staff offered to assist you with pitching. Pitch 17 has been used all season and the site staff were not aware of any complaints prior to your stay of this pitch so they are sorry you were not happy with it. Please be assured our site staff always do their utmost to assist and help whenever they can.

Ah, the beauty that is Loch Naver! It was peaceful when we visited and we chose our own pitch🤷🏻‍♂️

The water is brown because of the peat. It happens a lot in the Highlands. There’s nothing wrong with it and it’s fine to drink. It’s what makes the whisky so good. I’ve lived to tell the tale.

This site is great if you want to stop over for a night whilst en route elsewhere. Anyone who complains that "the water on site is not advisable to drink neither would I personally want to run it through my Motorhome" is being petty. You know in advance from reading the site information that you're recommended not to drink unboiled water, so why make a mention of it?  I was in a motorhome travelling from Dunnet Bay down to Kinlochewe, I filled up at Dunnet Bay and had plenty of water to last to Kinlochewe!

We stayed at this site 19th to 23rd July last year. We loved it & we hope to return. The wardens were particularly friendly & helpful  The weather was fantastic (warmest place in the UK when we visited) & the site was quiet....little noise from the adjacent road. It is a terrific little site especially if you like boating/canoeing, swimming in the loch or bird watching.  Frankly this review gives a completely wrong impression & perhaps is somewhat malicious.
