One of the best

A really enjoyable stay at the nicest site we have been to this year. Pitches and facilities are good, and proximity to Ashwell village is a bonus. Wardens were very friendly. Thank you.

Perfect for us

We chose Ashbridge Farm as we have family living nearby also the close proximity to the Railway Station, as we have another son in London. The site is in a lovely English village complete with local shops including an excellent bakery and a little coffee shop with really pleasant staff. They made us very welcome and even brought our dog a bowl of water. The caravan site is clean and well maintained with efficient staff. So much so we decided to book our caravan into the storage facility so we no longer need to tow it up and down the A1 from York. Looking forward to many more long weekends there.

Lovely little site

Lovely site, nice sized pitches. The site was fairly full but the ablution block was immaculately clean and tidy. We'll be stopping by again

Little bit of heaven

We store our caravan at this site, so we have taken our caravan out of storage onto a pitch on various occasions. The facilities are always clean. The staff friendly and you feel like you are miles into the country not near to the A505. Ashwell village is walking distance and I can recommend The Rose and Crown for food and drinks. The spring is beautiful regardless of the weather. Also there is a lovely tea shop called Rhubard and Mustard.  Will be returning soon.

First trip after some time away

Have recently got back into caravanning after a break of some time! Decided to visit Ashridge Farm, as it was not very far from home had I overlooked anything vital! What a lovely peaceful site it is. The Wardens are friendly and helpful, the facilities were spotless, and it is a haven of peace and quiet. There was a cockerel somewhere nearby, but that just adds to the countryside ambience. Ashwell is a charming English village. Two pubs (we only visited one) and a wonderful little coffee shop serving homemade cakes, with a beautiful small garden at the rear. Decided to eat at The Jester at Odsey (you pass it on the way to the site) on Friday evening, and it was a lovely meal. Very friendly staff. It just proved to me that you do not have to travel miles to find a good site. We will return!

Discovery 43

We just came for the one night, as we were traveling on to a Rally with our Club. The site was just what we needed for the night- peaceful. Small problem on exiting the lane at the end onto the road - cars parked- very tight turning space. We are a double axle caravan so we are long. The traffic in the area were very good, while they waited for our unit to negotiate around the parked cars.

Lovely tranquil site

This is a pleasant and peaceful site with lots of lovely walks from the site including a walk that links with the Icknield Way. Ashwell is a delightful village with three pubs; a cricket field; pretty cottages and gardens; ancient and beautiful buildings; 3 pubs; a few quaint and unusual shops; a lovely ancient church where the clock always chimes; a local supermarket and an Indian takeaway.  An ideal site for a short or long break or a base to tour round Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.

Well Impressed

We are new to caravaning and to the Caravan Club and chose this site to visit our son & family in Stevenage before travelling on to the Isle of Wight and then the New Forest Club Sites. We were well impressed with everything about this site, the Wardens, the location and the facilities were first class and more than we expected. The noise from the adjacent building site was minimal and unobtrusive so one shouldn't be put off by other comments. We travelled from York and ignored the sat nav and chose the directions on the site info and so pleased we did. We took the A505 from Baldock towards Royston and took the second turning to Ashwell as recommended in another review. I would urge anyone who hasn't been here before to do the same as other routes to Ashwell are not good and very narrow. We enjoyed our stay so much we returned for an 'overnighter' on our way back from the New Forest. The village pubs do good meals and are dog friendly. We will be returning.

Lovely stay as usual

We are regular users of this site with family nearby. We stayed for three weeks from June into July and left the van in store for five days before on our way north from France. The site was excellent as always with beautifully maintained facilities and lovely helpful wardens. The building site causes some noise but it is hardly a distraction and after all is only temporary.
