We visited this site in June 2019, after driving from the site at Blair Drummond. The site is located right next to Balbirnie Park, which houses the splendid Balbirnie House Hotel, Balbirnie Golf Club, and some wonderful woodland walks - some of which can be cycled on. There are so many species of trees withing the park, and wonderful shrubs, plus a charming stream. The pitches at the site are decently placed - some are in quiet parts of the site, other border the perimeter fence next to a housing estate, which did not appear noisy or intrusive, Some of the pitches lack sun due their position amongst trees, but some people would prefer this perhaps. The toilet block was immaculate - didn't have as many showers as some sites (4), but didn't cause us an issue. Motorhomes were not allowed on grass pitches, as they were deemed too soft. The staff were lovely & helpful, and work hard on the upkeep of the site. We walked into the Town of Markinch, which was in the main unimpressive, and not a lot there - a couple of convenience stores, a couple of pubs, a decent train station, a restaurant. Clean, but unexciting. Glenrothes is only a mile or so away - a decent sized place, where Supermarkets are plentiful, petrol stations etc. All in all, a very pleasant 2 x night stay, with a wonderful Park next door. If there was one criticism - on the day of leaving (a Saturday), we vacated around 11.45am - entrance to & from the site is restricted, in that if there is more than one car/caravan entering the site, and are parked by the office whilst registering in, then you will not be able to get out until one of them moves on. On the day we departed, it was pretty chaotic in that there was a line of caravans/Motorhomes trying to get in, I guess to get first choice on pitches - thus the staff had to allow them through the barrier to enable people to get out ! Some caravans in the queue had to back-up !!
