Our First trip

This was our first time Caravanning, the site was conveniently located close to where we picked up out Caravan, the staff on arrival were very helpful and even came over to our pitch to see how we were settling in. A really clean and tidy site nice level pitches. I would highly recommend the Bearstead site. Thanks Guys

Always a wonderful place to return to

This is a wonderful site. You are always met with a warm welcome from the team. Andy, Troy, Mark and Phill are always incredibly accommodating and helpful. The site is immaculately clean and tidy. The grounds are beautifully kept with colourful flower beds and even a ‘Herb Yourself’ flower bed where you can pick some herbs to add to your cooking (or to a cold drink of something special). We often visit here because we are guaranteed a relaxing break in a lovely setting. Great for local amenities and places to visit, would be ideal for a stop over on the way to and from the continent as well. We have stayed at many sites over the years, but this one ticks all the boxes for us, you’d struggle to find a friendlier and better kept site. Highly recommended.

Just Perfect

We stayed for five nights over the Coronation weekend. First time at the Bearsted site and would highly recommend to anyone staying in this neck of the woods. Andy and Troy are fantastic hosts and keep the site in perfect condition and take such pride in it. A huge amount of work to keep on top of things but the guys didn’t seem to stop. The shop has everything you could need and if not it won’t be far away. Leeds Castle on the doorstep. We visited magical Sissinghurst just 30 mins away. The facilities were kept immaculately keen and this was over a busy weekend with a busy site with friends of campers visiting as well. I can’t thank the boys enough for making our stay so pleasant and welcoming.

A lovely site - superb, friendly and clean!

Booked this campsite as a last minute 'on the day' booking for two nights on a Bank Holiday weekend. Received a very warm welcome on arrival from Mark and stayed on an excellent hardstanding pitch with plenty of space to set-up and get comfortable. Reception had a well stocked shop with all of the essentials you'll need. If anything they don't sell, they are more than helpful - Mark even lent us his tin opener! Conveniently located and is just a 20 minute walk into Bearsted where there is an excellent pub (Oak on the Green). It's also just a couple of miles from Leeds Castle. Facilities were great, clean and spotless. Would definitely revisit. Thanks Mark and team for a wonderful stay.

Great location

This site is within minutes of the A20/M20 so a great location. There is a Stagecoach bus service from the main site entrance to Maidstone with a journey time of around 10 minutes. Unfortunately, our bus didn't arrive due to a lack of available Stagecoach drivers. Leeds Castle is a must see visit for adults and children alike. Local guidance suggests a 30 minute walk to the castle. However, there isn't a path along the A20 so the walk is along the grass verge. We took our MH on the last day of our stay. It's a 5 minute journey to the castle and there is plenty of MH parking at the castle. We bought our tickets at the castle ticket office using our club membership card to get a discount. This is cheaper than booking online (online booking doesn't accept club membership). The Bearsted site is relatively small but very well maintained with level pitches. The shower block is very clean, warm and regularly serviced. There are private hand basins. The shower temperature and flow can be controlled by the user (some site facilities don't allow this). Staff are very helpful and happy to provide guidance and advice. The shop is well stocked with tasty treats. There is a lovely walk through the Woodland Trust to Bearsted village. The Leeds Castle ticket allows return throughout the year so we will definitely use Bearsted as our base location.

Great Site

We are new to caravanning and were so lucky to have chosen this site as our first stop. Alan gave us great advice and tips and we are now touring the south of Spain with our two young boys. I can safely say the two days at Bearsted were invaluable. Thanks again Alan!!

Excellent and friendly site - what’s not to like?

As novices we booked a 2 night stay here with our caravan. A few glitches and Alan, the Warden, was so helpful and a huge assistance to us. His wife, Dee, was very friendly on arrival and a very knowledgeable lady. The site is spotless - this is a merit not a criticism as some previous feedback may have suggested. Sites like this are to be applauded and appreciated. We will come back very soon. A lovely site. Our criticism is the alarm constantly going off in the storage facility which has been very annoying and has disturbed us. Toilets/showers were spotless.

LOCAL WARDEN NEADED

I was booked to stay here for 4 nights I was greeted by the most officious warden I have ever come across Told another paying customer to hurry up and fill there water as they were holding people up. Patrolled around the site looking for people who may about to break the rules I was uncomfortable so left 2 days early to find another site Stay here only if you want to be watched by someone who should have stayed retired and lacks the calm helpfully ability to be a warden.

Helpful wardens and a useful location

This is the second time we have stayed at Bearsted the night before a Channel crossing as it is a short hop down the M20 to Folkestone. The assistant warden on duty during our arrival was friendly and helpful. My wife and both had pleasant chats with the senior warden who kindly pointed out some rare bats. There is some road noise from the M20, but this did not disturb us unduly. Although spotlessly clean, the toilet facilities are showing their age and would benefit from a refresh. We will certainly stay here again.
