First time Motorhomers

This was our girt visit to a CC site, as new Motorhomers with a new van, "straight out if the box". We booked on line, arrived just at closing time but was given a good welcome, everything was explained by the duty warden.  The site is well laid out and the views from the pitches are excellent overlooking the town of Berwick and right out to sea. The facilities are first class and the wardens very friendly. The town of Berwick is 25 minute walk away but the beach is 5-10mins away for walking the dogs. The area includes Alnwick Castle, Bamburough Castle, Lindisfarne and Seahouses and is an area of Natural beauty, especially when the sun shines, which it did in April Overall an excellent site in a great location and we will be back.

Lovely Location

Beautiful location, lovely wardens, spotless facilities.   Pitches feel very cramped, roads around the site are very narrow.   We moved pitch after one night because we felt we were slightly over the pitch into the roadway.   Very, very windy whilst we were there, locals say it is always windy.   Would we visit again? not sure, location great, easy level walk into Berwick itself, several pubs locally - not certain if any do food though.   Would use as a stop over for a few nights if travelling to Scotland from Staffordshire.

Excellent Site

We have just returned from a great 4 night stay at this site. The site is well laid out and the views from the pitches are excellent overlooking the town of Berwick and right out to sea. The facilities are first class and the wardens very friendly. The town of Berwick is a 25 minute walk away and has a good selection of shops, pubs, chip shop etc and a walk around the walls is a must. Also in the area there is Alnwick Castle, Bamburough Castle, Lindisfarne and Seahouses. Overall an excellent site in a great location one of our favourites.

Great Location

We had two separate nights here over the Easter break, the site itself is very well located within easy walking distance of Berwick or bus stop just outside the site. The staff were friendly and helpful and the amenities on site clean and to a high standard. I would use this site again to explore the area as plenty to see and do.

Short Stay Only

Good Points - amazing view from most of the pitches, toilet block clean and standards high, wardens we're welcoming, area is fantastic with lots to do at the coast and inland. Bad Points - I feel the pitches were small for a longer stay with little room to relax around the caravan and awning. The trains are noisy and the wind can be very disruptive depending on your pitch. Overall if you're looking for a stop off - great little site. If your hoping for a longer holiday, choose a larger site, especially if you have children. We have had a great week but it has been away from the site and not on it.

windyweek

Stay on site was ok unfortunately first three days were very windy, gust up to about 50mph plus. Had awning up but had to get up during night to take down if not could have ended up inbthe river Tweed. Otherwise good site to stay as town is only a bus ride away or a god walk. Plenty of places to visit around the area.would visit site again as it's only about 2.5 hrs from my home location, also ideal if planning to travel down the east coast.

Good location for A1 stop off

Had one night here in late March before travelling on further south. Views are excellent of Berwick and the sea but it is by the east coast main Line although the trains are not too noisy. Also the approach is through a built up area of houses.  Berwick is worth a visit and it is only 20 minutes down the A1 to Lindisfarne.  There is a retail park near and a very good fish and chip shop called Roberts.  The wardens were very welcoming and the site immaculate. The toilet block was spotless and nice and warm.   Would use again as a stop off if travelling up the east coast but wouldn't think it is a base for a longer holiday

Excellent stop off on way to Scotland

On arrival we were thrilled by the view from our pitch. Could not find any fault with the excellent toilet facilities. The walk around Berwick, it's ramparts and breakwater was interesting and enjoyable. Berwick was too far from the site to walk back again for evening meal, but the Chinese take away was happy to deliver to the site.

A great family break!

Booked site for a family break over new year. Great location walking distance to the beach and lots of shops nearby. We went to Edinburgh for the day just an hours drive away. Wardens were great helpful and friendly. Toilet block were clean and warm as expected. We enjoyed a mulled wine and nibbles on New Years eve in reception and gathered other ideas for locations from other visitors. We will be back later in the year!!
