Lovely site for a long weekend

We have stayed here three times this year as its far enough away from home to make it feel like a holiday, facilities are great, always clean and well kept. Lots to do from walks, to railways, and Battle of Britain memorial at Capel le Ferne is well worth a visit, we spent a lot longer there than we expected! Local pub across road with live music on Friday nights too.  All in all a great site to visit, and like Arnie, "I (we)'ll be back"

GREAT LONG WEEKEND

Pity we only stayed 2 nights, will be back for more. Great site and position, very clean.  Close to Folkestone and Dover.  Went to Dover Castle for a whole day, absolutely brilliant. New War Time Tunnels open and great to visit.  Good food in Lyddon, The ??? Bell great food and service.  It is on the right when you drive direct from site. In short we will be back.

Helpful wardens

We were caught in very bad traffic on M25 and it looked as  though we would be arriving after 8.00. At 7.15 one of the team rang to check that we were OK and arrange to get us onto our pitch if we were late. This was really reassuring. As in previous years we have found the wardens really helpful.

Great Location lovely area

We have been using this site for a number of years before our annual crossing on the tunnel. However we have grown to love and enjoy the site. It has a brilliant location lovely surroundings where you can enjoy a peaceful stay. But I must say credit has to go to successive wardens who have made us very welcome and have been helpful in every way. We left uk last week after spending eight days in Black Horse and we were sorry to leave. The site is immaculate and because there is so much to see in the area together with short trips into Cantebury it is well worth coming back to,hopefully next year.

Site used regularly to visit family & friends

My wife & I visited Black Horse Farm Site, Denzole, Kent from 13th Sept to 20th Sept 2015. We have visited this site on several occasions over a number of years and have been disappointed that the lower toilet block has deteriorated to it's current tatty condition. We appreciate that this a cross channel ferry site and probably has a constant high usage but the lower toilet block is in real need of refurbishment. The staff do their best to clean the block but you cant make a silk purse from a pig's ear. The wardens generally maintain the site well but there comes a time when some renovation work is a priority.

another great trip with the caravan club.

This is a very well run club site. There is a bus stop just outside this site with plenty of buses to various towns which is great for Motorhomers.Good well stocked shop across the road from the site.Shower blocks,as always, very good indeed.Would really recommend this site.

Handy Stop Over

Over the years we have used this campsite many times the night before our crossing to France. This time it was the first time with our motorhome.  Its good for either the Tunnel or the Ferry.  Sometimes we have been on the main site and sometimes on the ferry section. Access is easy but the road can be quite busy. Facilities up to the usual high Club standards. The site does perhaps deserve a longer stay as there is a good bus service from almost outside the site. Contary to a previous review we found the food and service really good at the pub across the road although it should be noted that they only accept cash.

Enjoyable Stay

We stayed on this site during our South Coast trip.  Originally we were only staying a couple of days but extended it so that we could visit both Folkestone and Canterbury.  The facilities were perfect and very clean and tidy.  The site was very well cared for and the staff very friendly. The bus stop was just up the road from the site gate and took us to both places and ran frequently.  There was also a small village shop where you could get most things and it was just across the road.  There was a pub up the road but we didn't go in.  Will definitely stay again when back this way.

Great site: but avoid the pub!

We very much liked this site. There are several serviced pitches which is a great asset, and the whole site is well laid out and maintained. However the pub over the road we found very poor. A pint and a small glass of wine were well over £8, served by very miserable staff. You can do better in the area.
