Highly Recommended

This is a great site, conveniently located for the Blackpool facilities but far enough away to avoid the noise etc. Ideal site for small children and with very polite and professional staff who on hearing I didn't have a motormover came out without asking to help guide me in as I reversed in to the pitch. They also keep the site pristine and the bathrooms spotlessly clean. We stayed over the Easter weekend and can't recommend highly enough.

Easy to access and get in and out of the town

You wouldn’t make an oil painting of the site , but it serves a purpose to access local areas and is easy to drive onto from the motorway . We never use the wash facilities so can’t comment on that , the bins were emptied often and the wardens were friendly . Not so many weeds on pitches this time , the hard core needs a top up or replacing . It is good VFM and low deposit cancellation option is appreciated .

Better than expected.

After reading the reviews previously I expected less but I was pleasantly surprised. We went right of the site entrance which is away from the road and had no problem with noise. Our pitch had a neatly trimmed hedge and was perfectly adequate. The roads around camp aren't perfect tarmac but I've seen worse. Toilet block was clean, warm and suitable for the guests. The floor is tiled and can be a little slippery but I wouldn't be rushing around anywhere where there is a wet floor anyway. Wardens were friendly and helpful and advised us on a nice pitch which we pitched up on and it was perfect. It isn't a place you can really walk from but it's not far to the local places by car. We parked up so we had about 20 mins walk to Blackpool. St Annes, Lytham, Fleetwood and Clevelys and never had to pay for parking. Will definitely come back in the future.

Site needs updating

We are club members for 25 years and always enjoy using the sites. This site is convenient for Blackpool & surrounding areas. Although the site does appear a bit tired with hedgerows overgrown and pitches worn in parts with weeds growing through the gravel. The site needs updating especially the shower block which is not to club standard that we’re used with. Shower cubicles small with no handrails in any of them. Floor very slippy when wet and not enough hooks as the lower one is a waste of time because it’s sited to close to shower head and anything hung on it gets wet through. The exit barrier wasn’t working throughout our weekly stay which meant everyone had to use the entrance one to exit which worked okay but why does it take so long to get something so important repaired? The site is convenient for Blackpool but only by car or taxi as the bus stop is a very long 40 minutes walk away along a bridle path heavily used by horses and lots of their droppings to side step if your lucky. There is constant noise from adjacent roads especially later at night when the bike and car racers come out. Overall wouldn’t return until the site was upgraded.

First time using a site from this club

The site is throughout showing its age some of the roads etc were in poor condition, and the facilities could do with investment, but is fairly well kept and tidy , the staff were pleasant and helpful. The dog walking area is very poor and needs work , I didn’t find the system of pitch allocation worked at all as the office told you which pitch to look at but , others had already ran round and dumped belongings on the pitch , before going and checking in really poor etiquette and Brits on holiday abroad mentality, yet it wasn’t challenged by the admin staff , they need to tighten up on ignorance displayed by so called club members . The one thing that make this site a never to return for us is nothing to do with the club, and is beyond their control. It’s the amount of local rednecks racing cars with big bore exhausts up and down the dual carriageways that almost surrounds the site. It went on every night till 10 pm at the earliest, it’s unbelievable that the roads policing units in the area don’t deal with them, so we will not be returning to that site, but as I say nothing to do with the staff or the site, just the actual location and local stupidity

WHAT A CHANGE

Having been Members and gone to this site for over 30 years what an almighty change. Groundwork is atrocious, the shrubbery around the pitches, bushes which may be referred to as hedges with weeds growing up through and all along the bottom coming up through the stones. The height of the hedges backing on to Cropper Road a horrendously busy place are a danger preventing pedestrians with dogs getting along down into South Dickies Lane to extend the exercise period. If nothing is done soon the gravel especially over at the extremely small dog exercise area will not be hardstanding but grass pitches. The site has not been sprayed in 2023 for weed killing. There is 3 male wardens and one female but it is obvious maintenance has been cut back. The toilet block is antiquated and extremely dangerous, the floor is really slippy and the bladed mop supplied to dry is absolutely useless. There is NO grab handles for restricted mobility. No VANS were allowed on this site and now not only are they allowed no matter shape or size but Company names on the side pulling a caravan. What we saw on that site just over the last 2 weeks indicated from our CMHC lengthy membership that the wardens are either there for training or temporary. Awful.

Nice site, pleasant stay

Access good, don't arrive before 1pm due to no waiting area as this would block the access road. Site wardens nice and welcoming, really helpful and informative on arrival. Toilet block clean with enough toilets/showers (although would say the men's toilet were often left in a mess, not the fault of the site) Lovely pitches, well spaced out, hardstanding and level, some pitches have hedges between making them a bit more private. Small dog area with bin provided, not ideal for exercising your dog (this is not a criticism) Small play area for children. You can hear some road noise depending on what side you are pitched, this didn't bother us. Good location for visiting many surrounding areas including, Blackpool, Lytham and other seaside towns. Overall we liked this site and will return.

Friendly and helpful staff on good site

Staff could not have been more considerate and helpful. The site is well located for visiting Blackpool itself as well as other coastal towns. We especially like Lytham St Annes and Cleveleys. Great 10 days.

Lovely peaceful site with good accessible facilities

I stayed here in my motorhome last week from Sunday to Friday. As a wheelchair user, travelling alone with just my assistance dog, it helps if the facilities are clean and work well. I really liked the layout of the accessible shower room, though the floor in the main area was too slippery. The water was hot and had good pressure and the room was always clean. The site is very pleasant, with well kept garden areas. The paths could do with a resurface but otherwise, it was very nice indeed. My assistance dog really liked the little dog play area. It was perfect for playing with a ball! The wardens were friendly and helpful. I will definitely return again, as it was a lovely week away.

This site has weeds everywhere !

This is our first trip to Blackpool south for 4 years and it is nowhere near as good as it was before the unfortunate lockdown struck . The pitches have weeds everywhere and the access road has been ruined by the lorries from the new housing estate adjacent in cropper road . I realise this is not the clubs road , but they need to complain to the council who will have sanctioned planning permission and recieved a tidy amount for the housing land development . Its just somewhere to park your van with no immediate attractions or scenery . Dahlias cafe which was cosy and friendly has closed and the garden centre seems to now be struggling . Very sad!
