Blenheim palace at Christmas - 3 night stopover

We had booked to go to Blenheim palace for Christmas at Blenheim, Christmas market & festive light trail, the site is in a perfect location as it was only a short distance to walk to Blenheim palace & Woodstock. On arrival we were met with a friendly greeting from the wardens, we booked in and told them we had arranged for another family member to join us (not on our booking) we paid the extra for our family member & were given an assigned blue pitch number 62 (first time ever that we have been assigned a pitch number) they said it was because they were busy & our MH length at 7.46mtr long. We drove to pitch 62 which was on a corner of the road pitch was on a slope facing a field, with an overhanging fir tree (we would not have chose this pitch if we had a choice) we set up on the pitch which said for 7.5 mtr unit on pitch marker, our motorhome 7.46mtr long just fitted on length wise we drove on forward (our MH is continental) I did not park as per recommended C&MC parking guide with pitch marker to left of front end if I had our back end would have been nearly into the road once set up on the large triple ramps I was still not level & my front end was nearly touching the fencing to the field so the back of my MH was around 300mm clear of the road on the narrowest part as this pitch was on a corner. The blue pitch 63 next to us was empty & larger but thought they had a bigger unit coming in, the following day we returned from a day out in Oxford & the unit next door turned out to be a caravan which was shorter than our MH ? (why we were not assigned that pitch). Yes the site has a very busy road especially at the part of the site we were assigned the pitch on & yes also noise from the nearby airport during the day. I pay a yearly subscription for C&MC WIFI so expect to be able to use it when on site if required (This site only has a hot spot near to reception & not available anywhere else on the site). Toilet facilities were clean but very dated compared to a lot of other sites & need some investment. Our biggest issue was the toilet flushes in both ladies & gents it's a basic requirement they were appalling, the flush was so weak on some toilets you had to flush 2 / 3 times to get rid of the waste & had to wait at least 5 minutes to re-flush each time as the water tank was so slow at filling (Yes of course some people can't be bothered to wait to re-flush & walk away so you end up having to try & flush there waste away before using the toilet). We paid £6.50 per person & £6.90 per unit per night (£26.40 per night 3 adults) - same time next year £7.80 per person & £9.00 per unit (£32.40 per night 3 adults) an increase of £6.00 per night for the same facilities. Come on C&MC spend some money on toilet cisterns with good flushes for the toilets if your prices are going up we expect the facilities to be fully usable & spot on. All in all we enjoyed our time at Blenheim & our visit to Oxford - Yes we would use the site again
