Terrific site for couples and singles

Just returned home after staying for 6 nights on this lovely site. Great for nature and walks. Excellent cafes within walking distance. Lovely, helpful managers (Laurence and Yvonne). Will return soon!!

A lovely part of the UK

A lovely well managed site hidden away. Very peaceful and ideally located for some beautiful walks and cycle rides. I can’t really say anymore except it’s definitely a place to go.

Beautiful site set amongst mature trees with abundant bird life.

Fantastic two night stay - only stay I’ve been able to book with the Caravan and Motorhome Club so far for 2021 and only site I managed to book last year. Yvonne couldn’t have been more helpful in terms of fitting me in for two nights instead of the original one night booking is managed to secure by chance. So very grateful to her for managing to do so - not easy, I know. Both Yvonne and Laurence are friendly, welcoming and helpful - and work their socks off to make this site such a wonderful one where we can have a break in relative “normality” in these ongoing crazy times. Thank you so much. Excellent, peaceful walks straight from the site along the river towards Bolton Abbey or in the opposite direction to Appletreewick. And wonderful showers where you adjust the heat yourself! Fab!

Good Garden Near The Site

Having just returned from this site other visitors may like to know about Parcevall Hall Gardens which I've not seen mentioned on other recent reviews. The garden is only a few miles north of the site and has extensive plant interest and far reaching views at very reasonable cost (only £7, £6 concessions). Take note of the garden map before leaving the car park as there is more to the garden than first meets the eye. It's a sloping site with woodland walks, formal garden around the Hall, and an extensive rock and water garden. The latter leads up to a lovely view over a dry valley surrounded by wild flowers. Well worth a visit.

Simply - Love It Here!

Having just completed our 3rd visit to Bolton Abbey Estate Site in 4 years, all I can do is give you a 100% recommendation. The warden staff are always friendly and helpful. The site is beautifully situated and the access to the Abbey Estate and walks along the River Wharfe is simple and an absolute must. Bolton Abbey itself can be very busy at times but at the site you are beyond the issue and can leave the car parks there to those not staying close by! Many of the reviews on here go into the beauty of the surroundings and detail things to do but all I would just like to say that this site has always delivered for us. Generally, quiet with regular visits from Peacocks and various species of ducks, along with a plethora of wild (albeit quite tame!) birds. Beautiful walks are but a few minutes away and provide an absolute treasure trove of wildlife and natural beauty. Whilst there is no designated play area (that I am aware of) for the younger visitors, the setting provides ample opportunity to fill their lungs with fresh air! A beautiful part of the country, a lovely and well-run site, good pitches, and you really are at the gateway to the beauty in store of the Yorkshire Dales. As far as services go, Skipton is about 15 minutes away and you get everything you could possibly need there. Will there be visits number 4, 5 and 6? I sincerely hope so! Thanks to all, a marvellous site, location, and above all holidays.

Great small site, will be back!

Stayed here for 1 night en-route home from the Lakes. Entrance archway pretty tight 😨 and long road up to the site ( we thought we had gone wrong following Sat Nav) , but well worth it! The QR Code maps didn't work as there was no phone/wi-fi signal, so I recommend to take a picture of the map to refer to as you walk around the marked routes etc... Site shop had run out of most things, Bread, Milk etc.. but probably just bad luck as we arrived on Bank Holiday Monday? Myself, Wife and dog loved the site, nice small dog walk with wood chips underfoot, all area's clean and tidy. Could do with a few more hooks in Showers as stools have been removed, I believe due to Covid? Nice site and people, we will be back mid-week when not so busy, for the peace and quiet and lovely walks. Thanks! 😀😀🐕

Peaceful & relaxing break

Our first visit here but definitely will not be our last. Beautifully kept site set in woodland with very easy access to the river with walks in all directions. Wardens were friendly and helpful, pitches well set out and a nice little dog walk which sufficed for "quick breaks". Facilities were well maintained albeit a wobbly shower head in the gents showers, covid management in place and generally (but not by all) were adhered to, its not difficult to understand, put a wrist band on a hook when you go and put it back in the container when you come out! If there are no wrist bands in the container do not go in!! Didn't use the shop, check in swift and efficient. Great food at the Red Lion at Burnsall, put it on your list of places to eat.

Amazing place of natural beauty

As a child I spent many hours at Bolton abbey, so as an adult and a caravan owner it was only natural I'd want a nice long weekend here revisiting my childhood. I was not disappointed. The site is beautifully maintained, its quiet and peaceful with wildlife trotting on by. Check in was easy, and covid safe. The wardens were lovely, friendly and infact went above and beyond by reopening the shop after hours so I could get supplies. The pitches were as expected at a camc site. Their is no phone reception or internet on site, unless you buy the camc WiFi. The walking routes are amazing and you can walk from site to the Abbey along the waters edge in less than an hour. Be aware that if you are going, and planning on driving that you need to prebook your car park and its £12.50 for the day. There is a cafe just out of the site but we didn't go so I can't comment on what they have. Other shops, cafes along the route to the Abbey are quite busy and expensive. All in all the Bolton Abbey Estate is definitely a place to visit. I will definitely be back. Thanks again to the wardens, I'm so sorry I didn't take down their names for special thanks!

Above and Beyond

My Wife and I recently visited the Bolton Abbey club site, and whilst there I had the misfortune to suffer a rather nasty mountain bike accident (off site). Without going into detail, I would like to publicly say a huge THANK YOU to the Site Wardens  -  Laurence and Yvonne  -  who definitely entered the ‘above and beyond’ category in their care and assistance to us, during my enforced extended convalescent stay. In respect of normal circumstances, Laurence and Yvonne maintain the Bolton Abbey site to exceptional standards, and together with their cheery persona, are both a credit and a huge asset to the Club. I am looking forward to a return under ‘normal’ personal circumstances. Paul Kissack  ‪23247733 ‬

So relaxing.

What a return. We haven't been to this lovely site for about four years. when we entered the site it looked just the same as how we remembered apart from the presence of a site manager standing in the rain marshalling arrivals for Covid safety regulations. This was Lawrence who gave us a very warm welcome and clear instructions of how to proceed with booking in. I then went into the Reception and it still looked the same as years ago a bit tired and drab ( a change of color wouldn't go amiss). but it soon brightened up with the presence of Yvonne and her very friendly approach, so cheerful and welcoming. We then went to our pitch(28) .This was where we had stayed before. All the pitches looked immaculate and some have been made larger than they used to be providing plenty of room for all. If you like wildlife then this is the site for you. It is obvious that Lawrence and Yvonne have put so much work into this site. spotlessly clean and it looks like Yorkshire has over spilled right back into the site. Displaying the fantastic local drystone walls and little glimpses of the outside countryside reaching into the site. This is due to the sensible management of the surrounding vegetation. undertaken by Lawrence. How they manage to do all this work without assistants, I do not know! However, a fantastic visit and we left so relaxed . Can't wait to go back. petty about the paint job in reception, it's one of the first things you see.( maybe a lighter, brighter color like sage or something similar my suffice. Just our opinion.
