Great Site

Good clean site and location, great pub just outside. 2nd visit in December but wont be returning any time soon, not very understanding during our last visit that had to be cut short due to issues with tow vehicle. Quite annoyed that reception had to confirm if RAC were allowed on site and then on leaving a day earlier, was immediately told there are no refunds despite not even asking for any. Sorry about poor review but still annoyed at the lack of empathy during a very stressful time trying to get car and caravan back home after a supposedly relaxing break, thank heavens for great friends.

The guy.s right its not his fault his car broke down, the caravan club should intervene, if they read the reviews! (do they) let us know C.A.M.C. Please in the Magazine.

Intervene? 🤔

MX66, I’m sorry you had an unfortunate experience. Have you contacted the club and explained that you’re not happy with the warden's response?

I’m confused, did the wardens not allow the breakdown company to attend to your car whilst it was on site?

Whenever I have had a breakdown rescue service or mobile caravan tech attend on site I have always spoken to the wardens first so that they are aware. It is unclear whether the reviewer did this.

As for losing that nights fees this is not up to the warden and nothing to do with the particular site. The caravan club policy is that if you leave a site without giving 72 hours notice you forfeit a nights fees unless moving to another CMC site. The warden is only following his orders.

Alan he hadn't asked for or expected a refund but was (as I read it) offended that the warden pointed out that he wouldnt get one in spite of that..

No idea why he should have been offended at being given information David. If the warden had said nothing he might have thought later that the warden just pocketed it. smile

I was told similar when I left one of the York sites early, can't say that I was offended by being made aware David, why would I be?

But then as most posts that are more a rant than a review ,it is also in what manner was the member advised  of the no refund ,

It is also still not made clear by the OP as to whether the site staff were "advised"of his  breakdown ,as it is not unknown for site staff to be expected to just let vehicles on site to attend without prior knowledgeundecided
