The Best of The Best

Just arrived home after a fabulous 5 nights at Cae Mawr, been going here for years the site is fabulous for relaxation and recuperation. Anglesey is a beautiful island never tire of finding things to do. In my opinion the Wardens Stephen and Janet are superb, friendly, helpful and the site is immaculate. They are a credit to The Club. I didn’t want to leave today but you have to leave to go back.

Love this site!

My Granddaughter and I visited this site for 3 nights in April. On arrival, we were greeted by the lady in reception, who was extremely helpful and as this was only the 2nd time I had taken the caravan out it was really appreciated! We found the site was immaculately cared for, everything was clean. The service points were plentiful and well maintained. Cae Mawr is situated in a lovely area and very easily accessed off the main road. No negatives what so ever, we will be visiting again whenever to go to Anglesey again.

What a site

We have been coming to this site for 2 years. We love this site, Janet and Stephen are lovely friendly people and the assistant stewards should learn a lot from them. We wish Janet well with her speedy recovery. this is normally a very quiet and tranquil site due to no facilities therefore you have to be completely self reliant on your own facilities. Therefore it was unfortunate in the only time we could book for our 12 night holiday this year from work fell partially within school holidays so our first 8 days were slightly spoilt by uncontrolled children running and screaming around the site. However, we have already booked our holidays from work for next year which fall outside of school holidays. It is a shame consideration is not given to being an ADULT ONLY site. The site is a fabulous location and central to places and beaches on the island and is not to far to go onto the mainland. We saw one red squirrel on our first visit in 2016 and had not seen any since, until this visit when we saw 8 red squirrels. Dog walking loads of coastal walks and there are many beaches which allow dogs all year round, we have two dogs and they love come here as well. We will be booking our 2019 leave shortly.

Cae Mawr Anglesey

We stayed here over the August bank holiday. The site is clean, quiet and very well kept. The staff were very welcoming asked what sort of pitch we wanted and then directed us to the best one to suit us. There is a pub at the entrance of the site and we found it to be also very welcoming and did a varied Menue. We walked from the site to Lligwy beach and then round the headland to the villiage of Moelfre stopped at the Kinmel Arms then on and up the hill lovely walk. Benllech is down the road which has a lovely beach. Will book again before the seasons out.

Fabulous site

We love this site it has no toilet block and fairly restricted dog walk however we booked to go back whilst on site, the wardens are the best of the best stopping to chat to everyone and very pleasant indeed. A new caravan owner was having issues when leaving we went to help and the warden spotted it straight away and came to help with the stuck steady, he also came out of the office as I took our dogs for a final comfort break and wished us a safe journey and looked forward to seeing us again. A definite 10 out of 10 and credit where credit is due The site was very well maintained and quiet even though full, it was a very hot weekend and England were playing it still remained peaceful. No children on site mainly older retired couples we were amongst the youngest it was so friendly we stayed a night longer than planned. Don’t be put off by the small dog walk you are so close to a forest and beaches it’s not a problem. A pub is within a few minutes walk we didn’t try it with having our dogs and just down the road is a fish shop or Chinese along with a small Tesco express for basics Anglesey is beautiful and the location is near Beaumaris and the huge Red Wharf Bay that was very quiet on the sunniest weekend of the year

Overnight stay

Very nice site, only stopped one night. Disappointed that there was no on site dog walk as stated , especially as over 50% of people on site had dogs, some had at least 4. Apparently there was a small footpath offsite but we were not informed about this.

Perfect weekend

Spent May bank holiday here, from the moment we arrived we knew it would be a great weekend. The site is immaculate throughout. The pitches are large with water and elson points not to far away from any pitch. A mixture of hard standing and grass allow for choice although only a few grass pitches were open for smaller MH due to the appalling weather in the month before, this said, a very wise move by the wardens as there was no sign of grass damage anywhere. The beach at Traeth Bychan is just a 20 Min walk away and is dog friendly, it’s also an ideal beach for water sports. There are no shower, toilet block or play ground so this makes this site very quite and almost Adult only but please don’t be put off by this as there is loads for kids to do off site. Last but not least, the wardens, they are a credit to the club and possibly the best we have come across, the club should be very proud of this team. A perfect weekend and we will be back at the end of May for 6 more nights, can’t wait.

What a lovely peaceful site

We booked to come to this site last minute as we wanted a site with hard standing after all the rain. And what a great decision it was. This is an immaculate site with nice large pitches. Lovely and peaceful, wardens friendly and helpful. Handy for local beaches, several only a short drive away, 1 mile to the coast path. We will definitely return to this site.

Peace and quiet

No toilet/shower block tends to mean families won't use it so it's pretty much adults only. I hope it stays that way. Couldn't comment on toilets as there aren't any. There is no nearby shop or pub, the village has nothing. It's just over a mile to the beach where there is a beach cafe but it only opens from Easter to September. Llangefni is the largest town, only a fairly short drive away. LlanfairPG (I can't spell its full name) has large shopping centre of Pringle/Edinburgh Woollen Mill etc.but often runs out of food in the cafe but a cafe across the road is excellent value. Anglesey Transport Museum is well worth a visit. It's a private collection which got out of hand but only opens March to October. Anglesey more or less closes in September which is a shame for out of season travellers.

3rd Site Stay

Stayed for 5 nights visiting family on the island. Site is what you expect for the caravan club, very tidy and well looked after, I only gave a 3 for facilities as there is no toilet or shower block. Wardens gave me a very friendly welcome and provided all the site information available. Really good place to set up base for visiting places on the island and there is a pub at the entrance to the site if you like to have a drink or two. If you like walking there are plenty of places to venture and only about a miles walk to join the coastal path. Mobile phones were useless, I am Vodafone and my girlfriend is EE and we both couldn't get any service but the Wifi on site was very reliable.
