Our first ever caravan trip

We decided to buy our first caravan this year inspired by childhood memories of caravanning with parents .This first trip was designed to check everything on the caravan was working and to get used to setting up etc. Despite our best efforts in preparing to travel we realised that we were going to arrive later than anticipated . I called the wardens to explain and they were most understanding and said that they would stay on to show us the ropes . Upon arrival we received a warm welcome and an informative discussion about the site .We were directed to a hard standing , flat , pitch close to services which , the wardens felt , would be easy for us to set up on . They even stayed on to check that we were ok following set up . The site itself is in a lovely , secluded , woodland area .It is very clean and well manicured. The atmosphere very friendly and relaxed . We could see red squirrels . rabbits , skylarks and other wildlife from the caravan window .The site does not include toilet or washing facilities but we did not mind that as we could use our own facilities which we prefer anyway in the current climate. A short walk from the site affords a beautiful , panoramic view of the Snowden mountain range and coast .It is a quiet , tranquil location which would probably be suited more towards adults rather than families with children .We really enjoyed the experience and it has made us realise that caravanning is for us and we are, very much , looking forward to our next visit .
