Lovely small site

Lovely small site, easily accessible from the A11. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Site ideal for visiting Cambridge and local NT properties. We were only able to have a short break but will be back.

Excellent location in the heart of England and close to the famous university city

A really nice landscaped site on various levels in what seems a now naturally matured former quarry. The plots are not in regimented lines as on so many others. The facilities block is quite central on the site, and the roads do not form a circular race track. Despite not having a fancy onboard tv setup I managed to get a perfectly good tv reception on my Unispectra tv with just the Majestic 175's standard aerial despite warnings about poor reception. We were on plot 23 and possibly benefitted from being a bit more elevated than some of the lower pitches. The wardens were happy to share loads of information and the local buses into the City Centre were only a 10minute walk away and ran every 10 minutes. You would have to be very "picky" to find fault with this site.

A Very Warm Welcoming Arrival

I booked this site to spend some quality time with my Daughter who lives in Newmarket. As with any new to you site I was unsure of what to expect. The site is very nice, clean and well kept. Great location within a short drive or bus ride into the centre of Cambridge. The bus stop is about a 2 min walk as is the local Greene King pub the Robin Hood. We had a very nice meal and a few drinks. Good food and drink to be had there as well as a pleasant atmosphere. There is good walking paths close too. The one thing that stood out was the wardens, they gave me such a warm and welcoming arrival. They are very nice to talk to. They are a credit to the club. A site I will definitely be booking again. The only issue is the main access road (Limekiln Road) it's very narrow and the lunatics on the road made it quite a scary drive along towing a caravan. As for leaving the sight the view right is not great. Apart from that... I had a fantastic 3 night stay.

Superb

Good Morning, This is the first review that I have ever written for our club so it might give you an idea of how impressed I was with this particular site The management team here are absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, funny, nothing to much trouble, professional and in fact they were the perfect hosts Extremely good transport into the town centre (buses every 10 mins and only a 10 minute walk from the site) The site is spotless and quiet with very good facilities But it was the friendliness of the team here that stood out for me Highly recommended site for a visit to a truly gorgeous town Mark

Perfect Location

This site is perfect for a visit to Cambridge. The bus at the end of the road (less than 10 minute stroll) takes you right into the centre in about 15 minutes. Services every 10 minutes! Very friendly staff at the site. Facilities just fine, as we would expect. Highly recommended.

Excellent site and lovely staff

Stayed at this site 15-17 October and had a wonderful time . We’re relatively new to campervanning and the fantastic staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Superb site with beautifully clean and warm shower block . Great location for getting into Cambridge with bus stop just round the corner . Shops and couple of local pubs mean that you don’t have to go too far to get supplies . Make sure you don’t miss a walk in the small nature reserve and round the former chalk quarry opposite .

Very helpful wardens

Stayed recently for a couple of nights whilst en route to Norfolk. Site very busy and convenient for excellent bus service into Cambridge. Very warm welcome from wardens Marc & Tina. Had a technical problem whilst on site and Marc cheerfully came with a selection of tools and sorted it out for us after helping another couple with their own issue. They always had a friendly wave as they went about their duties and made everybody welcome. Apart from a little noise in the evening from nearby sports centre the site was very peaceful. Definitely worth a longer visit to explore the area..

Gem of a site that is unique

I stayed on this site for 7 nights and they were delightful. The site has a unique layout of several different sections, I stayed down a steep but small hill in a valley. I was traveling on my own as a disabled single lady and the wardens could not have been more helpful. The site and facilities are clean and well laid out. The park and ride is close by as is a bus stop. I easily drove into the town center which is very given over to cycles and electric scooters and food delivery people. There is a super market to visit and of course all of the colleges and the river. We also found Trumpton Meadows which was a delight. There is also a large retail park very close by. Coming back to the site was great, it was an oasis where you could not hear the traffic, even though the main roads were close by. Everyone was friendly and there were dog walks and cycle paths close by. if you want to explore Cambridge and Ely this site is ideal.

Peaceful site, extremely kind and helpful wardens

A lovely peaceful site, great pitch and made to feel very welcome whilst travelling with our three dogs. We had a problem with the electrics in our van whilst there and the warden came and helped us, after hours, along with a fellow motorhomer as well. The warden couldn’t have been friendlier, always giving us a wave and coming over to pet the dogs when he saw us. All in all, a lovely stay and will definitely be returning.

Hidden gem

We stayed for two nights on this site in August. The wardens were so friendly and helpful. The facilities were well maintained and clean, and the site was quiet and peaceful. We used the local buses which stop nearby to travel in to Cambridge and also we walked along a footpath into Cambridge one day. We cycled from the site to Anglesey Abbey on the cycle paths with which Cambridge is well provided, and on to Wicken Fen (both National Trust). We will definitely return for another, longer visit soon.
